ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal Marcus Coloma made a memorable entrance as Nikolas Cassadine on a Halloween episode. Unfortunately, we’ll soon see the last of this character—at least, as played by Coloma. Let’s talk about his run, what we know, and what could be.

So, ‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal it’s been a few years since Coloma’s Nikolas showed up at a party in disguise. And he didn’t waste much time in causing trouble. He gaslit Ava Jerome (Maura West) into thinking she is seeing ghosts, scared Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) out of town, and made a lot of missteps with his son, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez). It didn’t make the character look good, but it did seem like Nikolas was on his way to making some changes.
Unfortunately, it hasn’t worked out very well. Now, he’s hiding his son’s ex-girlfriend (who is carrying Nikolas’ baby) and putting Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) in an impossible situation. One that could end up having lasting consequences for her. So, what’s happened now?

Recently, news broke that Coloma will no longer be playing Nikolas. Reports have his last airdate happening at the end of January. And reports claim that not only was Coloma let go, but the actor has decided not to film his final scenes. In an Instagram video message, the actor seemed upset and unsure of what to say in regards to his leaving the show. He also expressed appreciation for the fanbase that has followed him the past few years.
Showing he has a sense of humor about the situation, he claimed Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) said he’d change his number, but Coloma knows where he lives. Kin Shriner (Scott Baldwin) as well, so they’ll still film stuff together. We’re glad to hear that, because we love what we’ve seen so far. So, what about Nikolas?

So, we’re going to possibly get a little controversial here. Now, we do like Coloma as an actor. However, we feel the writing for Nikolas has been questionable and didn’t match well with Coloma’s presence and vibe. The way they wrote Nikolas made him seem like the man-child Ava claimed he is.
‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal they’ve made his son far more mature than Nikolas, who easily fell into a manipulative teenager’s trap. And now, he’s willing to put a good friend in a bad situation to keep a secret he never should’ve kept. We found Adam Huss’ portrayal at least a bit threatening when he filled in, and we can’t help but wonder if he’ll be called in again to film some material.
We honestly think they’ve painted the Nikolas character into a corner that he can’t really get out of. No matter whether he tells the truth or it’s exposed, having a child with Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) will create damage that might not be reparable. And we’re not just talking about any chance of reconciliation with Ava.
Spencer will likely never be able to forgive, and we think even Laura Webber (Genie Francis) will have a hard time coming to terms with her son’s mistakes. We’ll see how things go, but we wonder if they’re leading to another long-term disappearance of Nikolas with the latest developments on screen.
