A Deeper Look At Meghan Markle And Her Special Bond With Her Beloved Late Beagle, Guy-A “Rags To Riches” Story Meghan Markle and her late beagle, Guy, had a special bond that the Duchess won’t soon forget. While all pets are a wonderful gift, some pets leave pawprints on your heart long after they’re gone.

Guy Was Found Abandoned In The Woods

In a heartbreaking tribute to Guy on her Instagram, Meghan shared that Guy had passed away. In videos, she shared poignant memories of Guy and admitted to crying “too many tears to count.”

Guy’s life was said to be a “rags to riches” story. He had been found abandoned in the woods in 2015 with no food or water and was taken to a kill shelter in Kentucky.

Shelter conditions are often brutal and nightmarish, and all too often, if an animal isn’t adopted within a matter of days, they are placed on the euthanasia list. This is what happened to Guy.

Fortunately, he was rescued in the “nick of time.” Meghan adopted him and gave him love and a family, but Guy was initially rescued by the charity A Dog’s Dream Rescue. Volunteers from the rescue group transported him to Canada.

When Meghan saw Guy, she knew he needed her and immediately “fell in love.” She adopted him and took him home with her to Toronto.

The head of the animal charity enjoyed watching Guy’s new life unfold on Instagram, watching him trotting along with Meghan on the streets of Toronto and cuddling with the Suits actress in bed.

Meghan Markle Was Told Her Rescue Beagle Would Never Be Able To Walk Again

When Meghan began dating Prince Harry, the Duke found Guy’s considerable charm irresistible. Meghan introduced Guy to Charles and Camilla.

When Meghan recounted the tragic tale of Guy’s terrifying early life, Camilla was visibly upset. Camilla, being involved in animal rescue herself, doesn’t like to hear of dogs in danger or mistreated.

Charles was also genuinely moved by Guy’s story. He is a softie at heart and can’t bear the thought of any animal suffering.

Meghan eventually moved into Nottingham Cottage with Harry. Guy was with Meghan throughout her entire romantic journey with Harry.

Harry also fell in love with GuyGuy made the trek with her to the UK but had broken both of his legs just days before they were set to leave.

The adorable beagle ran away while Meghan was at work and then was spotted miles away from her house, unable to walk.

His little legs were put into casts, and he had to undergo several surgeries to heal. Meghan was told Guy would never walk again, but she refused to give up.

For Meghan, no price was too high to pay to help her pup, and she hired renowned television “super vet,” Professor Noel Fitzpatrick, to operate on him. Guy had to stay in the animal clinic while recovering. Harry and Meghan drove for hours late at night to visit Guy at the clinic.

Guy Was With Meghan When Prince Harry Proposed

Guy was featured in his own children’s book, called, “His Royal Dogness, Guy the Beagle: The Remarkable True Story Of Meghan Markle’s Rescue Dog.”

Meghan Markle had a book written about Guy

In Harry and Meghan’s Netflix docuseries, they shared that Guy was even with them when Harry officially proposed.

Harry had uncorked the champagne and led Meghan outside to a picnic blanket surrounded by candles. He wanted the scene to be reminiscent of when they were in Botswana, Africa, where he first thought of popping the question.

Harry knelt on the blanket. The Duke and Guy both “looked up searchingly at Meghan.” Of course, Meghan Markle said yes, and the happy couple cried, laughed, and petted Guy.

Guy was also a part of The Duke and Duchess’s May 2018 wedding. The dog was beside Meghan’s feet as she had her hair and make-up done. Guy also rode with Queen Elizabeth II to Windsor Castle.

For many, Guy was the highlight of the occasion. Everyone laughed as he ran around in search of crumbs and split canapes.

Guy played a considerable role with Harry and Meghan’s children, Archie and Lilibet, who adored the precious pup.

Meghan Markle Thanked Guy For Years Of Unconditional Love

Guy has gone to Rainbow Bridge to run, play, and bask in the sunshine forever. The rescue beagle appears in Meghan’s new cooking show, “With Love, Meghan.,” which comes to Netflix on January 15th. Guy steals the spotlight.

Meghan Markle Guy was well loved

In her tribute to Guy on Instagram, she wrote,

“Because many of you will now see Guy in this new series, I hope you come to understand why I’m so devastated by his loss.”

    She added,

“I think you may fall a little bit in love, too.”

To conclude her Instagram tribute, Meghan wrote,

“Thank you for so many years of unconditional love, my sweet Guy. You filled my life in ways you’ll never know.”

And they do just that, don’t they?
