British Royal Family News suggests that when it comes to royal drama, Queen Elizabeth thinks it’s best to keep calm and carry on, like always. That’s probably why she’s not as worried as her staff members about the new tell-all book, Finding Freedom: Harry, Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, which details all of the drama that enfolded between the Sussexes, the media, and the monarchy. Here’s what you need to know.

A source close to the situation told Vanity Fair in an interview, “The Palace are worried about the book because they know what really happened behind the scenes. Frankly they should be breathing a sigh of relief. It could have been a lot worse. It’s going to open old wounds at a time when everyone wanted to move on. I think the person who will be most upset about it all is the queen.”

With that said, many critics have called Finding Freedom more of a ‘soapy revenge’ book than a real autobiography. Some point out that it intends give pay back to those perceived enemies in both the palace and the media.

While Harry and Meghan have always made it no secret that they were tired of all the scathing remarks and the endless criticism made by the media, the book does nothing to help ease the situation between them and Prince William and Kate Middleton. Instead, it makes the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge look like ‘villains.’

The book points out that Prince William called Meghan Markle a ‘showgirl’ and warned Harry not to jump too fast in his relationship with her while also suggesting that Kate Middleton did very little to get to know her sister-in-law.

So far Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made no comments about the book and neither has the palace. Finding Freedom: Harry, Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, hits bookshelves on August 11th.
