ABC ‘General Hospital’ spoilers find that star Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) opens up about her nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a drama series for this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards. Here’s what she has to say.
Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, the brunette beauty says that being nominated this year feels just as good as it felt when she was nominated the first time around. She told the publication, “It’s incredible to get that from your peers. I forget that people watch; I just kind of go to work and do my thing. I think it’s a form of denial so you can do your work in sort of a make-believe world and not think about the consequences!”

She also said that she knows most, if not all of the other ladies in her category. Finola continued, Yes, it is fantastic company to be in. I texted all of the ones I had numbers for. Ari Zucker, I actually just met online, but I know Kelly Lang and Heather Tom and Maura West. Maura is a good friend, I love her. I sort of thing she’s going to have to come out of her dressing room now! She’s a recluse and I always tease her about that when we are at work.”
She also said that putting together her reel was a little less painful this year, but that’s only because she hates watching herself on the small screen. “I have to say, because there was only a certain amount I could pull from because I’d taken a lot of time off. I chose some twin stuff between Anna and Alex and I think there was something with Peter in there and something with Michael Easton. But mostly it was twin stuff between myself and myself!”
The 2020 Daytime Emmy Awards airs this Friday, June 26th, and will be presented by Sheryl Underwood. Check your local listings for times.
