‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers pose the question: Would Victor Newman (Eric Braden) feel grateful toward Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) if he helped Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) overcome his lethal pain pill addiction?
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Victor Is Jealous of Jack and Nikki’s Longtime Friendship
So, by now, we can see that addiction runs in the Newman family. Nick’s mother, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), has had alcoholism for decades now.
Jack helped Nikki sober up and recover from the alcoholism that was literally killing her, but Victor isn’t the least bit thankful for what he did to save her.

In fact, Victor actually seems jealous of Nikki’s longtime friendship with Jack, which factors into his hatred for him. However, Victor’s son may be different.
Y&R spoilers indicate that Nick is headed for serious trouble because of a bad batch of drugs that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) leaves for Nick to take during the week of April 27th to May 1st.
When Nick and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) go to rescue Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Noah Newman(Lucas Adams), Nick will keel over and lose consciousness.

Nick will likely be sent to the hospital. Since a pain pill addiction, especially Fentanyl, is extremely tough to beat, Nick will ultimately require long-term treatment.
Nikki may enlist Jack’s help in supporting Nick as he endures a very long, complex recovery. Nick will obviously need all the support he can get.
Jack has been there before with pain pills and overcame his own demons, so he is uniquely qualified to help his former stepson.

Matt has been trying to keep Nick hooked on this junk. He will undoubtedly feel triumphant next week when Nick passes out.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Nick Is Going to Need All the Support He Can Get
Apparently, Nick will believe that he needs to continue to pop these pills so that he can be strong and rescue his son and ex-wife from Matt’s grip.
So, it’s only a matter of time before he inevitably overdoses. The drug addiction he’s battling isn’t sustainable. Once he takes that bad batch of drugs, his family will realize just how much help he needs.
We have to wonder how Victor will react if Jack decides to give Nick a helping hand. Jack is the type of man who would be there in a shot if someone he cared about needed his help.
Would Victor understand and realize that maybe he should call a truce with his nemesis if he helps to save Nick’s life?

It’s going to be a long, tough road for Nick to get himself sober again, finally. It would be really petty and selfish for Victor to keep attacking Jack. Nick needs help, and Victor will drive away the one person who understands him best.
Nick will soon need to admit that the drugs he’s taking are much stronger than he is. He’s going to have to finally accept help from his family and anyone who has his best interests at heart.
Since Jack is definitely one of those people, can Victor put aside his animosity, suck it up, and allow Nick to be helped by the one man he loathes most in the entire world?
