‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal that fans are divided over GH “glossing over” Kristina Corinthos Davis (Kate Mansi) and Ethan Lovett’s (Nathan Dean) complicated history and whether they should become a couple.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Kristina Had a Massive Crush on Ethan When She Was a Teenager
Ethan’s second stop upon returning to Port Charles was to see Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to ask for a job.
Interestingly, Kristina had a massive crush on Ethan when she was a teenager, but Ethan put her in “the friend zone” and told her that she was too young for him.
Before Ethan met with Sonny, he saw Kristina first, and they had a brief catch-up. Ethan started flirting a bit and admitted he noticed she was all grown up and found her “stunning.”
However, Kristina revealed that her “type” has changed. Ethan knew she had dated “Blaze” aka Alison Rogers (Jacqueline Grace Lopez).
Kristina informed Ethan that she wasn’t interested in anything romantic, but she was very interested in having a friendship with him, which reminded many viewers that Krisitna has been with men before.
Some fans were let down by Kristina’s rejection of a potential romance and wonder why Kristina does not acknowledge that she once identified as bisexual.
Plus, Kristina and Ethan seem to have an easygoing chemistry, and Kristina has been single for far too long after her breakup with Blaze.

However, other fans feel that GH is glossing over Ethan and Kristina’s past together as the writers seem to conveniently “forget” what Kristina did to Ethan.
Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) had briefly mentioned it to Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst). However, the show is brushing it off like it’s a non-issue.
For those who aren’t longtime GH viewers, here is a history lesson on the deeply complicated and troubling history between Ethan and Kristina:
Back in 2010, when Kristina was only a teenager, her abusive boyfriend, Kiefer Bauer (Christian Alexander), had brutally beaten Kristina very badly, but she framed Ethan for the attack.
Ethan discovered a very battered and bruised Kristina, and he cared enough to rush her to GH, ultimately saving her life.
Kristina didn’t want anyone to find out that her own boyfriend attacked her, knowing that Sonny would end up killing him. Not to mention, she understandably feared the wrath of Kiefer.
So, she pointed the finger at Ethan and claimed that he was her attacker. Ethan was arrested, and Kristina’s mob boss father took a hit out on Ethan.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Ethan Went Through a Lot Because of Kristina
Eventually, Sonny agreed not to retaliate due to his bond with Luke Spencer (Tony Geary), but not before everyone in Port Charles ostracized Ethan.
That said, Kiefer attacked her again, and Alexis accidentally ran Kiefer over, while frantically driving Kristina to the hospital.
It was only after Alexis hit Kiefer with her car, resulting in his death, that Kristina told the truth and explained to everyone that Ethan had actually been her rescuer.
Ethan was exonerated, Kristina apologized for basically setting him up to be killed, and he generously forgave her. Fast forward to 2026, and Ethan and Kristina act like none of it even happened.
Now, some fans want to see Ethan and Kristina get together, while others think they need to address their messy past.
Kristina had shut down any possibility of a romantic relationship between them. It’s very interesting to see that many fans seem more upset that Kristina is erasing the fact that she used to identify herself as bisexual than what she did to Ethan.
