‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers suggest that Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) hasn’t been paired with the right man since Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash).
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Gabi Needs a Romantic Partner Who Is Equally Matched
Gabi is a beautiful, fiery, formidable woman who needs a romantic partner who is equally matched. I’ve been saying this for a long time.
She’s dating Philip Kiriakis (John Paul Laviosier) right now, and while they are sweet together, they lack the passion and chemistry that “Stabi” shared.
I tried to give them a chance, but the magic simply isn’t there. Sure, they have their moments, but they lack the spark they need to ignite true fire.
Stefan and Gabi were perfect for each other. However, DOOL ruined them, as it tends to do with so many good pairings.
While she and EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) had potential, the show dropped the idea shortly after they had revenge sex after Stefan drunkenly slept with Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun). Gabi and EJ actually had some chemistry, but DOOL apparently didn’t notice.
Gabi inexplicably went back to despising EJ again. After that, she had a ho-hum relationship with JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) that personally bored me senseless. Regardless, I always thought that Gabi should be with a DiMera.
Now, she’s with Philip, and the relationship is about to implode since she’s harboring the secret that she colluded with Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) and committed corporate espionage to seize control of DiMera.
Tony had promised her the top spot at DiMera, but he promptly double-crossed her and gave the CEO position to Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews).
The outcome was the unraveling of the Titan-DiMera merger, which has single-handedly tanked Titan and left the company facing significant financial trouble.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: What Gabi and Stefan Had Was Lightning in a Bottle Chemistry
Once Philip discovers the truth, we doubt he’ll have much sympathy for Gabi or forgive her for deceiving him and Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer).
Philip confided in Gabi in the April 21st episode of DOOL. He told her that he trusted her more than anyone. However, we all know how their story will end.
Which brings me to my point. The show seems to be toiling with the idea of pairing her and Theo. The two of them have zero chemistry and share a vibe that feels more like the bond between a brother and sister than between lovers.
That said, the show has failed to generate any heat with any of Gabi’s pairings since she was with Stefan. What they had was lightning-in-a-bottle chemistry.
Now that Stefan is supposedly dead, Gabi is forced to move on with suitors who don’t quite fit the bill. Since Theo seems to think he’s in love with Gabi, we can smell their inevitable rebound relationship coming from miles away. And frankly, it stinks.
Gabi is a very compelling character. For the record, Cherie Jimenez has done a fantastic job of portraying this incarnation of Gabi Hernandez and has successfully brought her own flavor to the role. It’s also highly likely that Stefan is still alive.
We also think it was really a big mistake for DOOL to fire Brandon Barash, who played Stefan. Ever since he’s been gone and off the canvas, Gabi has been pulled in the direction of one lackluster pairing to another.
