‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal that the showdown between Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) was perfect.
In the Thursday, March 5th episode of GH, Carly and Joss finally had it out about Joss having been recruited into the WSB.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Joss Threatened to Apprehend Valentin and Bring Him In
Both actresses stepped up to the plate and knocked those scenes out of the park as mother and daughter expressed their respective fury.
Joss was livid that Carly was harboring Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), who is a wanted fugitive. She warned Carly that if Valentin didn’t leave, she would apprehend him.
When Carly and Joss went downstairs, they fought. Joss listed all the laws Carly has broken, and Carly lambasted her daughter for lying to her face.
Carly desperately wants Joss out of the WSB, but Joss informed her mother that she’d consciously made a choice. Joss explained to Carly why she joined the WSB, but Carly wasn’t having it.
She told Carly about killing Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) and how Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) left her breadcrumbs, which led her to Cyrus. Carly was appalled that she had taken a life and never told her.
Then, the truth came out: Joss’s primary motivation for accepting Brennan’s offer to join the WSB was justice. She wants to be the one to take down Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
Carly was visibly shocked, but Josslyn insisted that Sonny was a murderer and needed to go to prison. Joss reiterated to Carly before she left that if she returned and Valentin was still there, she’d take him in.
The fierce faceoff between Carly and Joss was epic and a long time coming. The scene was, in fact, Emmy-worthy, as Wright and McCoy delivered powerful, raw emotion, and both sides were very convincing.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Carly Was Horrified at the Underlying Reason Joss Joined the WSB
We agree with Joss that she’s an adult and should be free to make her own choices. However, Carly is right that if Joss takes Sonny down, it puts their entire family in significant danger.
What was so impressive was that while Carly and Joss had it out, we could still sense their enduring bond. That said, Carly clearly doesn’t understand that her daughter has the right to her own life.
The issue: Joss lied to her mom, as Jack had asked her to do. Both actresses succeeded in making both sides understandable.
Joss should be able to run her own life, but Carly knows the cost of her potentially putting Sonny behind bars. The situation is very complicated.
Joss also proved she’s very much her mother’s daughter, as their showdown demonstrated the passion each had for their respective sides.
Not to mention, Joss also mentioned all the ways Sonny has put the family in danger. She was clearly convinced in her belief that the only way to get justice was to bring people like him down.
Carly is also terrified that her little girl may be killed in her pursuit of justice. She has every right to fear for her child. These two actresses are two powerhouses who matched each other’s intensity word for word during these scenes.
Wright and McCoy were on top of their game as Carly and Joss set the screen on fire. Carly and Joss’s faceoff was pure soap gold.
