‘Beyond the Gates’ spoilers confirm that soap vet, Jordi Vilasuso, has joined the cast of BTG as a new love interest for Ashley Morgan (Jen Jacob).
‘Beyond the Gates’ Spoilers: Vilasuso Got His Start On Guiding Light
Soap fans may know Vilasuso from his role as Dario Hernandez on Days of Our Lives and, more recently, Rey Rosales on The Young and the Restless.
Vilasuso has won a Daytime Emmy for his work. However, his first soap role was as Tony Santos on Guiding Light, where he played a mobster. His work on GL earned him a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor.
Vilasuso also scored a part on All My Children playing Griffin Castillo. He will join BTG during their much-anticipated upcoming second season.

The news of Vilasuso’s arrival in Fairmont Crest comes shortly after fellow soap vet, Greg Vaughn, joined the cast of BTG as Dr. Kial Rollins.
Vilasuso took to Instagram after the news broke that he would be joining the cast of the new, groundbreaking soap.
He shared his excitement about his soap comeback,
“Christmas came early this year! BEYOND grateful to be working with this fantastic cast and crew! Thank you, Michele Val Jean, for bringing me back to CBS!”
He continued,
“God Bless you for all the support, and can’t wait for you all to see a great story unfold on Beyond the Gates!”
In the Beyond the Gates season two promo, the voiceover announced,
“Beyond the Gates. The stories are steamier, the romance is wilder, and everything is hotter. Now is the time to go Beyond the Gates.”
The promo features Vilasuso, whose character has yet to be named, sharing a passionate and intense moment with nurse Ashley Morgan The second season of BTG premieres on January 2, 2026.
‘Beyond the Gates’ Spoilers: Vilasuso May Spice Up Ashley’s Love Life
It will be interesting to see how Vilasuso may spice up Ashley’s love life. Recently, she broke off her engagement to Derek Baldwin (Ben Gavin) after learning that he faked paralysis to keep her from leaving him.
Ashley has been a tough character to like since she was first introduced on the show. She hasn’t had the most thrilling storylines, but hopefully, Vilasuso’s arrival will change that.
Vilasuso’s most recent soap character, Rey Rosales, on The Young and the Restless, met an abrupt, tragic end. Rey was in a popular pairing with Sharon Newman (Sharon Case).
Sadly, the character was killed off in a shocking move that upset many Y&R fans. His talent was wasted on Y&R.
Apparently, that’s been a running trend on Y&R, as many wonderful actors have been on the show, and it ended in massive disappointment.
When Soap Opera Digest broke the news of Vilasuso’s exit from Y&R, the actor told SOD,
“Playing Rey Rosales on The Young and the Restless for the past 4 years has been an incredible experience that has brought me immense joy as an actor.”
He continued to thank the executive producer of Y&R, Josh Griffith,
“for the opportunity to sink my teeth into storylines that were some of the highlights of my career in this genre.”
While no official airdate has been set yet, we can’t wait to see Jordi Vilasuso back on daytime TV! Beyond the Gates is the perfect place for him to demonstrate his considerable acting chops!
