‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers have been looking forward to the big reveal on who is kidnapping the DiMeras.
We’ve shared several ideas we thought could work, and when we saw the spoilers for today of the reveal we were excited.
We settled on the one responsible either being EJ DiMera (Daniel Feuerriegel) or Peter Blake (Dan Gauthier).
And we were finally getting the answers we’ve been waiting for and… it fell flat. We’ve grown accustomed to that in ‘The Young and the Restless’, but had higher hopes here.
The writing has been lazy on this front the last few episodes. Certain tweaks were made to fit the story instead of having a believable methodology.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Playing the emotional angle and ignoring facts
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers love a well told story. It flows and takes us along its emotional waves to awesome highs and lows.
It’s the best ride around, but when there are glaring potholes, it takes some of the fun out of it.
Soaps seem more intent on playing to the emotional factor instead of letting the story flow and avoiding bumps in the road.
It’s mainly those little ignored details that help build the story, and when we look back it cheapens the ride.
Peter’s reveal as the DiMera collector fits that perfectly.
To make it work, the writers went full lazy writing to cut corners in blink and you miss it moments.
However, when you have a few of those moments close together, we notice the blinks.
Instead of a grand plan, it looks like Peter’s intention is to off his family so he gets all the power and money.
That’s a very doable and fun story arc. We see it all the time in older movies, especially detective noirs.
But in every detective story, the clues have to make sense.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Purposely missing points
The writers chose to omit or change things to fit their story and they stick out.
In this case, they trapped DiMeras were keeping a watch on the door for an escape attempt or help coming.
But the night Peter was deposited, they all chose to sleep. Convenient, no? Sure, they could say they were exhausted from the ordeal or lack of food. Maybe a sleeping gas.
How would it be administered? They would’ve smelled or noticed it and said something and they have food and water and three of them are eager and healthy to stay up.
None of those reason make any sense.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Peter’s weak ending
Since they didn’t witness Peter being brought in, they have no way of knowing if he has an accomplice. Maybe even Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash).
Most likely he doesn’t, otherwise they’d have to stay outside the crypt day and night and risk being spotted.
So that means Peter either has the door key on him or it’s not locked. We’ll go with the latter since he has Sarin gas that would kill them. It’s also kill himself.
Since everyone but Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews) can hold their breath and skin contact works with it, his chances of making it out are slim to none if he opens it whether the door is unlocked or not.
Never mind the fact is anyone checked it just in case.
In short, at best Peter’s setup is a murder-suicide angle. Is that his intent or is it for the money and power?
What was set up as a grand storyline is ending on a whimper, and that’s been the trend with some shows lately.
What do you think is Peter’s plan? Let us know in the comments below.
