Meghan Markle reached out to her estranged, sick father, Thomas Markle, who turned 81 this year. His leg was recently surgically removed after he developed a blood clot that cut off his circulation, and it turned black.
Thomas Markle Developed a Blood Clot in His Leg
It was a case of life or death for Thomas Markle. His son, Thomas Jr., told the Daily Mail,
“His foot turned blue and then black. It happened very quickly. I took him to the local hospital, and they did some scans and an ultrasound, and the leg had to be amputated.”
Thomas Markle was rushed to the hospital in the Philippines, where he moved to escape the constant drama with his daughter, Meghan Markle.
The leg removal was a life-threatening case. Thomas Markle has been estranged from Meghan since her May 2018 wedding to Prince Harry.
Thomas suffered two heart attacks and a stroke. He lost his ability to speak, but partially regained his speech with the help of speech therapy.
Given Thomas’s age, it is unlikely that he has much time left. We have to wonder whether Meghan reached out to her ailing father personally or whether her spokesperson did.
A spokesperson for the Duchess of Sussex claimed that last night, Meghan reached out to him but has yet to forgive him for his actions surrounding her wedding years ago.
In a letter to her father in 2018, she wrote that she was “heartbroken by his behavior.” Apparently, Thomas “embarrassed her.”
Meghan Never Visited Her Father After His Heart Attack
When Thomas suffered a heart attack, Meghan didn’t go to his side. It seems unlikely that Meghan will even visit him, which is a shame.
The timing of Thomas’s health crisis is inconvenient for Meghan as it coincides with the release of her Netflix special for her “With Love Meghan” show.
She recently also came out with chocolate bars, which is super weird. Meghan’s obsession with perishable goods is senseless and a poor business model.
Meanwhile, Meghan is still reeling over her brother, Thomas Jr., saying in a letter shortly before Harry and Meghan’s wedding that Harry was marrying a woman who was
“clearly not right for him.”
Thomas Markle also has never met Prince Harry or his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet. When Thomas moved to the Philippines, he told the Daily Mail,
“I was constantly reminded of my estrangement with my daughter while I was in the US and Mexico. I could not escape her and Harry, who were always on TV with their books, shows, and interviews.”
Meghan’s father is now in a critical stage in his recovery. The following 24 to 72 hours are essential for him to get through. The doctors want to make sure the wound heals without becoming infected.
The Next 24 to 72 Hours Are Critical to Thomas Markle’s Recovery
However, Markle is stable right now and seems to be recovering successfully so far. The doctors who spoke with the Daily Mail cautioned that at his age, his recovery could be dicey.
Right now, Thomas’s life hangs in the balance, and his daughter hasn’t made any effort to visit him.
Thomas said that when Harry and Meghan found out about his 2018 heart attack, and that Meghan’s father wouldn’t be walking her down the aisle, the couple told him to take care of himself, and they were very worried about him.
However, they later cut off contact. Thomas Markle told The Mail on Sunday in September,
“My only wish before I die is to meet my grandkids. I want them to know I love and care for them.”
