Today, on November 14, marks King Charles’ 77th birthday. His Majesty and Queen Camilla are in Wales to commemorate Cyfarthfa Castle’s 200th Anniversary.

Charles Was Given A Birthday Cake In the Shape of a Castle

Cyfarthfa Castle is one of Wales’ most significant historic buildings. It is now a museum and art gallery.

The castle was built in 1825 for ironmaster William Crawshay II as his family home, and remained so until 1889. The King was given a birthday cake shaped like a castle. Guests at the reception sang, “Happy Birthday” to him.

The guests at the reception were happy to watch him cut his birthday cake. He then spent time greeting the members of the local community outside the castle grounds.

Buckingham Palace released a photo of Charles holding a shepherd’s crook at his Sandringham Estate, which was published on social media.

The reception included representatives from Charles and Camilla’s patronages, such as The King’s Trust and the Royal Osteoporosis Society.

A source praised Charles and Camilla for their charity work,

“I think they do so much great charity work, and I love what the Queen does for literacy and encouraging people to read, and the King’s amazing work on environmental issues and his support of the arts.”

Charles, like his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, has two birthdays. November 14 and his official birthday, Trooping the Color, which falls on the second Saturday in June.

Prince Charles was welcomed into the world on November 14, 1948, at Buckingham Palace. He was the first child of the Queen and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.

He was born during his grandfather, King George VI’s, reign. Charles became King after the Queen’s death in September 2022. Charles’s coronation took place in May 2023.

Charles Recently Made the Difficult Decision to Strip Andrew of His Royal Titles

Charles also appeared on the cover of Country Life magazine this past week to celebrate the three-year restoration of the gardens at Sandringham.

The King’s birthday comes after he legally removed his brother, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, from his royal titles.

Charles also had to contend with the ongoing scandal over his disgraced brother’s past relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, also lost her royal titles. Their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, will retain their titles.

Plus, the former Duke and Duchess are being kicked out of their cushy home at Royal Lodge. Andrew moved to a new home on the Sandringham estate sometime in the new year.

Charles had to make a difficult decision to strip his brother of royal titles and honors. A source close to Buckingham Palace claimed,

“It must be mixed emotions for him.”

    They continued,

“That is why this has taken such a long time. It is family and monarchy, and when the lines are blurred, it’s very difficult for them. I’m just glad the late Queen is not around to see this.”

Kate MIddleton and Prince William walk into the service together

Earlier today, the King’s son, Prince William, and his wife, Kate Middleton, sent their best wishes for his birthday on social media: “Happy Birthday to His Majesty, the King.”

Buckingham Palace wrote a message to thank everyone who took the time to wish the King a happy birthday. “Thank you for the kind words and well wishes on His Majesty’s birthday.”
