King Charles has appointed Princess Beatrice to a new charity role as a Deputy Patron of The Outward-Bound Trust.
Princess Beatrice Has Already Been A Patron Of Outward Bound Trust Since Her Father, Andrew, Was Forced to Resign
The announcement coincides with the stripping of her father, Prince Andrew, ‘s remaining royal titles. In Beatrice’s new role, she works alongside Prince Edward, who has become the charity’s Royal Patron.
Beatrice has been a patron of Outward Bound Trust since 2019. The trust is an educational charity that uses outdoor adventures to develop young people’s social skills through challenging activities.
Some of these fun activities include rock climbing, high ropes, and canoeing. Plus, other unique experiences like wilderness expeditions.
Andrew resigned from his role as a patron of the charity in 2019 after his disastrous Newsnight interview, after his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein being called into question.
The former Duke of York had accepted the role from his father, Prince Philip, who had been a patron for sixty-five years. Many thought that the charity was the closest to Philip’s heart.
Beatrice’s patron role at Bourne is for a cause that is close to her heart. It was established following the premature birth of her second daughter, Athena, in January 2025.
Beatrice And Her Sister, Eugenie, Will Retain Their Royal Titles
The Bourne Patron focuses on ending premature births. When Beatrice opened up about her little girl’s birth in May 2025, she explained that her newborn had been
“so tiny that it took more than a few weeks for the tears of relief to dry.”
She continued,
“I’m extremely pleased to let you know Athena is now doing really well. I have a few more answers as to what happened, but still no precise explanation.”
Beatrice hoped that sharing her story would support other mothers who have gone through the same terrifying ordeal.
The Princess said,
“My joys and fears in pregnancy and motherhood are the same as those experienced by millions of other women around the world,”
She added.
It comes after news that Princess Beatrice and her sister, Princess Eugenie, will retain their royal titles following the disgraced Prince Andrew’s exile from royal life.
Amid Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson’s numerous scandals, King Charles is keen to protect his nieces, Beatrice and Eugenie.
A source told the Daily Mail,
“he wouldn’t have wanted to sign off on anything that would impact them.”
The King is very fond of his nieces and the late Queen’s granddaughters.
Royal Experts Are Urging Beatrice And Eugenie To Give Up Their Royal Titles
Buckingham Palace announced a couple of weeks ago that the former Duke and Prince would not only be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.
Last week, Beatrice and her sister were seen sharing an emotional embrace. The Princesses appeared to be consoling each other after their parents’ royal titles had officially been removed.
Andrew and Sarah have also been officially kicked out of Royal Lodge, the home they shared since 2008.
Royal experts have claimed that removing the Princesses’ titles would be the kindest thing to do for them, as
“Their HRH status will only end in scrutiny, tears, and then most likely abject humiliation.”
Said Amanda Platell, royal correspondent for the Daily Mail.
She continued,
“If they have any common sense, they would give up their HRH status willingly. The world would think a great deal more of them, and without the pressure and scrutiny that being an HRH brings, they might even be happier.”
Platell added,
“Although as Yorks, daughters of the most capricious, money-grabbing royals in history, I am not holding my breath.”
