Well, the reviews for Meghan Markle’s second season of “With Love, Meghan” are in, and it should come as no surprise that they are scathing.
Meghan Was Dubbed The “Montecito Marie Antoinette.”
The Mail’s Liz Jones dubbed “With Love, Meghan” “staged, fake, and dull.” The Guardian slammed Meghan’s show for being “boring and contrived.”
The Telegraph referred to the Duchess of Sussex as a “Montecito Marie Antoinette.” The Times called “With Love, Meghan
“A series in search of a meaning, fronted by a woman in need of some cash.”
Additionally, Meghan dissed the royal family yet again. She remarked that she couldn’t be “as vocal” and was forced to wear colors that made her feel like she wasn’t herself.
So, she’s tossing yet another veiled barb at the royal family. When it comes to the media, be it television or elsewhere, Meghan never wastes an opportunity to take a swipe at her in-laws.
Meghan also shared some intimate details about her love story with Prince Harry. She said that he was the one who told her he loved her first.
She added that she knew she was falling in love with Harry, whom she referred to as “H” on their third date, which was a trip to Botswana in Africa, a place where Harry had brought all his potentially serious female companions.
Throughout the series, Meghan makes basic ideas seem like they are original and revolutionary. Whether it’s flower sprinkles or sourdough, she acts as if her tips are somehow groundbreaking.
Meghan’s Celebrity Guests Were John Legend And Wife Chrissy Teigen
Brittany from the Royal News Network has also pointed out that the show has a cheesy, sitcom-type vibe because it’s so “fake and contrived.”
The only celebrity guests worth mentioning who appeared on the second series were singer John Legend and his wife, Chrissy Teigen.
Critics all basically had the same response to watching the show: it “lacks substance” and Meghan “fails to be authentic.” The show also comes across as somewhat out of touch and pretentious.
There were several different craft-making segments, including flower arranging challenges and a bookbinding demonstration by Meghan. The Duchess also makes flower-pressed jewelry with Chrissy Teigen in her “craft barn.”
Meghan was also sure to spout her meaningless happy word salad she’s famous for, and tossed around words like “joyful,” “elevated,” and “child-like wonder.”
Again, Meghan was happy to teach her viewers common-sense advice, such as when packing for a weekend getaway, be sure to pack clothes that can be worn together.
In this season, Meghan also bakes McDonald’s -style apple pies and lattes made from lavender and Earl Grey tea.
The lattes are admittedly the most creative of all her offerings. She also makes s’mores and ready-made puff pastries.
Meghan Spoke About Her Experience On Deal Or No Deal
However, there were occasional moments of interest, such as when she spoke about her experience as a model on “Deal or No Deal.”
Like Meghan, Teigen was also featured on the show as a briefcase girl. The two of them exchange stories.
Meghan remarked that the models had to stand in line to have their lashes applied. Tiegen recalled that after the show, the models had to deposit their lashes in a Ziplock bag.
Throughout the series, the audience sees firsthand that Meghan is a perfectionist who refuses to allow for any real moments or authenticity.
For example, if something is out of place or doesn’t belong in the shot, she warns the director that whatever it is doesn’t belong in the shot.
Another major faux pas about Meghan’s show is that while her husband, Prince Harry, and her children, Archie and Lilibet, came to watch filming of the series, none of them ever appear on the show.
Harry only appeared for a brief time at the end of season one. One aspect of the show that is more positive in season two is that the editing was a bit more dynamic, which means it didn’t drag as much as season one.
The Netflix lifestyle series premiered earlier today. The first season landed at number 383 with 5.3 million views. It garnered poor reviews. So far, the second season of the show has also been significantly eviscerated by the critics.
