‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers suggest that Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) should have been endgame.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Liz And Lucky Loved Each Other Since They Were Teenagers
We really thought that with five-time Emmy award winner Jonathan Jackson back on the soap, Liz would finally have a chance to be with her soulmate.
The powers-that-be botched their story so tremendously that we weren’t all that shocked when Lucky proposed; Liz said no.
The two of them could have continued their beautiful love story. Liz and Lucky have loved each other since they were teenagers.
However, the fact that Lucky lied to Elizabeth about the accident that Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) caused was a red flag that their romance wasn’t going to work out this time around.
We were gobsmacked as to why Lucky would cover for Kristina when she should have gone to a mental facility for treatment, as Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) suggested to Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn).
Predictably, Alexis covered for her unhinged daughter once again. Kristina accidentally cut the brakes on Ric Lansing’s (Rick Hearst) car.
We all know she had meant to kill Ava Jerome (Maura West), but Ric’s car happened to be parked in her spot that day.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Elizabeth Handled Kristina The Right Way
Kristina crossed a line and should have been made accountable for it. Lucky kept her secret until a couple of weeks ago when he admitted the truth to Elizabeth.
We were cheering Liz on when she confronted Kristina and blasted her for almost killing her and Ric. Liz told Kristina that she wouldn’t turn Kristina in for the accident because she promised Lucky she wouldn’t.
However, she warned Kristina that if she pulled another stunt like that ever again, she’d be first in line to report her to the police.
Rebecca Herbst did an incredible job of conveying the aspect of Liz’s personality that goes beyond the kind, helpful nurse she plays at General Hospital.
Liz was on fire with Kristina, and she didn’t even need to raise her voice. She called Kristina out on her crap, which was honestly far more effective.
Liz is the only person who would turn Kristina in since Ric and Ava have something to gain by keeping quiet.
However, it would be very interesting if Elizabeth discovered that Ric and Ava are blackmailing Alexis. Not to mention, Alexis is stealing money from a child’s inheritance, namely Nikolas Cassadine’s (Adam Huss) son, and Nikolas is a long-time friend of hers.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Liz And Lucky Deserve Their “Happily Ever After”
We would love it if Liz were given a storyline worthy of her commendable talent. The scene between Liz and Kristina was a reminder of what a phenomenal actress Herbst is. She should be given meatier material to sink her teeth into.
We enjoyed watching her and Lucky solve the mystery of who killed Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco). They figured out that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) was the “Digitalis killer.” He also murdered Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) and countless others using the heart drug, Digitalis.
The goodbye scenes between Liz and Lucky were also heartbreaking to watch. These two will always love each other, and they deserve better. If Jonathan Jackson ever decides to return, we want him to come back for good and marry the love of his life, Liz.
The wedding of these two legacy characters would be epic. It would be wonderful to bring the whole cast together for a joyful occasion. Which, considering all the death and despair that often takes place in Port Charles, would be a welcome change.
Elizabeth is a beloved character who’s been on GH for decades. We will always hold out hope that someday Elizabeth and Lucky will one day get their long-overdue “happily ever after.”
