‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers disclose that Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) is under investigation because two of her patients, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Dex Heller (Evan Hofer), died sudden and mysterious deaths after making a successful recovery from surgery.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sam Died Due To A Fatal Dose Of Digitalis
In Sam’s case, the toxicology report uncovered that the drug digitalis in her system, which is said to have caused a fatal heart attack.
Sam had donated a portion of her liver to Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins) and saved her life. Unfortunately, Sam lost her life shortly afterward.
While the hospital is treating the Digitalis incident with Sam as an error in judgment, Liz and Lucky Spencer (Johnathan Jackson) both know something very shady and evil is happening at General Hospital.
The two of them are very thankful for what Sam did for Lulu, and they will commit themselves to seeking justice for her. Dex was a police officer for the PCPD, and he was stabbed at Rice Plaza.
He was brought to General Hospital and had to have surgery. Like Sam, he made it through the procedure with flying colors. Then, out of nowhere, both went into cardiac arrest. While the autopsy report hasn’t come back yet, more than likely, Dex was also given a fatal dose of digitalis.
Liz’s heart is breaking for Sam and Dex’s loved ones, and when Dex died, she sensed something was off. “This feels incredibly creepy,” she concluded.
Liz and Lucky will also pursue their strong suspicion that someone else was involved and that the two deaths are connected. They are considering the possibility that whoever it was doesn’t work for the hospital.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Liz And Lucky Will Uncover The Truth
Meanwhile, Liz has been relegated to paperwork and can’t work with patients because of the investigation. Liz’s ex-husband, Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst), a hotshot defense attorney, advised Liz to stay away from General Hospital.
However, Liz is dedicated to her calling as head nurse. She’s not going to give up until she learns the truth about what happened to Sam and Dex.
Viewers know Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) is the one who killed Sam, and we know for sure. The soap provided flashbacks of Cyrus administering Sam the drug through her IV bag.
Dex had questioned Cyrus at Rice Plaza about Halloween night. Dex knew Cyrus was roaming the halls of General Hospital and that he was close to Lulu’s room.
He hadn’t yet put together that Sam was also nearby on the night she mysteriously died. However, he was getting close. Cyrus didn’t want to take any chances, and it’s evident that he killed Dex, too.
Lucky was once a cop himself, and he’s good at putting the pieces of a complex jigsaw puzzle together to discover the truth.
Lucky is already suspicious of Cyrus, as he took an active role in Lulu’s care at Turning Woods, when Laura Collins (Genie Francis) made it clear to him that he needed to stay away.
It was also odd that Cyrus wanted to move Lulu to a long-term care facility in South Carolina. Elizabeth and Lucky won’t stop digging until the truth comes out, justice is served, and Liz can return to work.
