‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard is seriously considering leaving his mob life behind.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Mike Appeared To Sonny In A Vision
Sonny’s enforcer, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), has been trying to prompt him to get out of the business since Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) was horrifically burned in a fire at Sonny’s penthouse due to a bomb meant for Sonny.
Plus, Jason wants to be there for his son, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn). With Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) gone, Jason is a single father. He can’t afford to risk his life anymore.
Sonny also recently learned he had a heart condition that would require surgery. After he had the procedure, Sonny was recovering in his hospital bed, and his father, Mike Corbin (Max Gail), came to him in a vision, as he did at Nixon Falls.
Mike knew about Sonny’s desire to get out of the mob. His father encouraged him to leave his life of crime and enjoy his time with his family.
Viewers have seen Sonny become an entirely new person. When he was in Nixon Falls, he wasn’t Sonny, the mob boss. He was “Mike,” the kind and humble bartender with no recollection of his violent past due to a bout of amnesia.
It was there that he met Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) and Lenny Caulfield (Rif Hutton). The three of them bonded and ran the Tan-O bar.
He also fell in love with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) as he didn’t know he had a wife, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), and several children in Port Charles, where everyone believed he was dead, and Nina didn’t tell him who he was.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sonny And Jason Need A Solid Strategy
The Nixon Falls storyline was a bust, especially with Sonny and Carly fans who waited months for Sonny to remember who he was. Sonny even wore a cowboy hat and square danced.
We definitely saw a different, softer side to Sonny in Nixon Falls. We don’t know if that’s the direction the writers will go or what Sonny will do if he abandons his life of crime.
Some fans fear Sonny’s mob exit, while others have embraced the idea. With that said, Jason and Sonny fear for their kids. They can’t wait around for the next time one of them becomes collateral damage due to their dangerous lifestyle.
Sonny has been in the mob for over three decades. Understandably, he may be hesitant to try something new. It would be an excellent opportunity for him to reinvent himself.
Sonny and Jason would need a solid exit strategy, and they seem to be at a point where they are ready to come up with a plan.
Since Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) is in town, could they resurrect L&B Records? It would be fun to see that happen.
Sonny may be forced out of the mob anyway due to the new referendum election, which could prove an easy out for him should he choose to take it.
There may be hope for Sonny to find freedom and go down a better path for not only his sake but for the most important reason of all: the safety of his family.
