‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers suggest that since Tamara Braun was let go from the Peacock sudser, Days of Our Lives, Braun is free to return to General Hospital as Dr. Kim Nero.
General Hospital Spoilers: Kim Was Devastated By Losing Oscar
Days’ loss could easily be General Hospital’s gain. Longtime General Hospital fans know that Braun played Carly Corinthos from 2001 to 2005. She was the second Carly, following Sarah Joy Brown, who originated the role.
Braun returned to GH as an entirely different character, Kim Nero, whom she played from 2017 to 2019. Since Laura Wright arguably plays the most popular version of Carly, who now goes by Carly Spencer, Braun would be a welcome addition as Kim.
Kim’s return could really shake things up as she was once romantically involved with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), and they shared a son, Oscar Nero-Quartermaine (Garren Stitt), who sadly passed away from cancer in April 2019.
Obviously, Kim was devastated by the loss of her child. This prompted her to want to “recreate” Oscar with Drew, who the late Billy Miller then played. Kim drugged Drew to try to get him into bed.
Kim was also romantically linked to Julian Jerome (William DeVry) and left town pregnant with his son, Andy. However, with Julian gone from the canvas, it would be intriguing if Kim returned and revealed that Andy was actually Drew’s child.
It would perk up this mind-bogglingly unpleasant storyline with Drew and Willow Tait Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen). Kim might disrupt their nauseating relationship if she comes to Port Charles with Drew’s unknown offspring.
General Hospital Spoilers: Kim Would Pair Well With Sonny
It would also be fun to see someone like Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) or Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) bring Kim to town to try to gain leverage over the sleazy congressman.
Besides, we don’t necessarily want to see Kim stuck with this incarnation of Drew. She’s way too good for him.
Braun could also capitalize on her chemistry with Maurice Benard, who plays Sonny Corinthos. It might serve the soap well to put Kim and Sonny together.
She would make a far better match for him than Natalia Rameriz (Eva LaRue). We never really understood Sonny’s affection for Natalia anyway.
We could also see Braun reuniting with another former Days co-star, Steve Burton, who played Harris Michaels and now plays Jason Morgan on GH. There are numerous compelling possibilities.
Tamara Braun had a lot to say to Soap Opera Digest about the incident in which her character on GH, Kim Nero, tried to rape Drew.
“To me, it seemed so out of character. And it wasn’t being dealt with in any way,”
She said.
Tamara explained that this particular story arc wasn’t responsibly explored.
“It needed to be an issue that they explored with intention and handled with care,”
She pointed out.
“This is no longer the day where rape turns into everlasting love. And it shouldn’t be. So, for me, I had concerns on a personal level, on a human level,”
She said.
“I just think if we’re going to do something like that with a character who’s not a villain or evil, right then it needs to be explored, and it could be a teaching moment.”
