‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers disclose that fans are speculating whether the character of Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) could be recast.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Nicole Is In The Midst Of Family Drama
Nicole only left Salem in July; we have already seen Eric Brady (Greg Vaughn) back on the canvas. He’s there to support his brother, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) after he was arrested for the hit-and-run of Sarah Kiriakis (Lindsey Godfrey), which he didn’t commit.
While it’s nice, he wants to help his brother, Nicole, and baby Jude Brady (Oliver McLarty), who are currently living in Paris. It’s typically not ideal for a spouse to move to another country entirely.
Could this mean we’ll see Eric and Nicole happy and together on-screen? With Eric in town, it would only make sense for Nicole to follow.
Not to mention, there’s some serious family drama happening between Nicole’s teenage daughter, Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis), and Eric, thanks to Holly’s boyfriend, Tate Black (Leo Howard), spilling the tea about Eric’s responsibility in Holly’s father, Daniel Jonas‘s (Shawn Christian) death.
Daniel died in a drunk driving accident while Eric was behind the wheel. Nicole kept the truth hidden from Holly her whole life. She believed it would only cause her pain.
Holly could be in serious trouble. She’s volatile and emotional right now; for a teenager, that could mean trouble lurking just around the corner.
While Holly suggested to EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) that she could help him find the evidence he needed to bury Eric, this could all be too much for her, and she could turn back to drugs to cope.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Arianne Played Nicole For Over 25 Years
Holly may need her mom soon. She’s angry and disappointed in Eric, so much so that she may not be thinking clearly. Without Nicole’s guidance and support, she could relapse.
Sooner or later, she must talk to her mom about the situation. EJ is still inflamed from the fresh sting of receiving his divorce papers, and he still pines for Nicole.
Since Nicole appears to be the focus of several stories, maybe the show foreshadows Nicole’s return. Regardless, her name is being tossed around a lot.
Arianne Zucker was let go from the role she had originated in 1998 and had played the part for over 25 years. Her contract ended, and she filed a sexual harassment suit and wrongful dismissal against Corday Productions and former director and executive producer Albert Alarr.
There’s no guarantee that Zucker could return to the soap. Her lawsuit is ongoing, and it’s unclear if she will be able to come back. The show also films six or seven months in advance, so the earliest she could return is late 2025, assuming she would even want to.
There’s always a possibility that the show could recast the character. If Zucker weren’t available, a few actresses could fill her shoes.
For example, the first Carly Spencer (Sarah Brown) from General Hospital would be a good choice. Coincidentally, Carly number two, Tamara Braun, would have made a good Nicole, but she already plays Ava Vitali.
While Arianne is exceptionally talented, soap roles are often recast, especially when the character is as iconic as Nicole.
