Laura Webber (Genie Francis) was one of the most shocked in the room. She was also the most thrilled. Watching her tears of joy as she hugged Nikolas was moving, and exactly what one would expect from a woman who thought her son is dead. Even in soap world, it’s not every day one gets such a miracle. However, Nikolas was in for a huge reality check.
‘General Hospital'(GH) Spoilers: Rage
Laura’s relief soon gave way to an awesome rage. Francis totally nailed the scene as she slaps Nikolas for all the years he spent gone. She also called him out for sitting around for several years plotting revenge while his son suffered. We think that was the best part of the scene. Her rage wasn’t about her, as justified as that would have been. It was more about the fact he let Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel) suffer thinking his father died. That he was left to watch everything get taken away, while the man supposedly responsible for said death came out of top. She made it crystal clear he put Spencer in danger, as the poor kid thought he was duty-bound to avenge Nikolas. Even Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) looked like she thought the tirade was more than sufficient. She stepped in to calm things down. But there’s another great part to this.

We’ve been iffy on the new Nikolas. Not because of the actor, but because of the writing. ‘General Hospital'(GH) spoilers indicate he made too many mistakes. He came across as dumb. Or reckless. We’re not sure what’s worse, but he displayed both at different times. Coloma nailed the scene as well. His puppy-dog, shamed face was perfect. It looked like a real son getting dressed down by his real mother. We salute them both for the awesome job they did.

As General Hospital spoilers indicate Laura will be concerned, we see a lot more trouble ahead before they even begin to heal the hurt he caused. And that’s just if she never finds out about his part in putting Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) in danger twice. Or the rift this caused between Sonny Coritnhos (Maurice Bernard) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright). Add in her upset about getting Ava Jerome (Maura West) to commit herself, and the complications Jasper Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) had to deal with, and he’s got a lot of work ahead of him to atone. He just better pray she doesn’t find out about him getting Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) to abandon her child, or the torture he put Ava through while she was in Shadybrook. We imagine she’ll be struggling with what her son has become for a while, as well as worrying about Ava’s agreeing to marry him. Stay tuned to see where this goes from here.
