Prince Harry and Meghan Markle still use “Sussex Royal” on their website, even though they claimed they would stop.
The Duke and Duchess stepped down as working royals in January 2020 and set out for the sunny California skies. They said they would cease using the “Sussex Royal” title after spring 2020.
The Sussex Royal Website is Still Live in 2023
However, sussexroyal.com is still live three years after their “Megxit.” They also have a Sussex Royal Instagram account with nine million followers.
Their website includes a page called “Serving the Monarchy.” The couple has not updated the page since the Queen’s death or Harry’s father becoming King.
The couple spent a lot of money to work on the web page’s design. There is a section called “Serving the Monarchy.” Their public royal website is still available, and it is baffling to everyone.
A royal fan spied the Sussex’s website and said,
“At the very least, it (the website) should reflect the Queen’s death and be updated with King Charles III.”
Another person remarked,
“According to the Sussex Royal website, our late Queen is still very much alive.”
Go Daddy hosts the site. A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan refused to comment on the site’s status.
The section about “Serving the Royal Family” includes some of the history behind the Queen’s rule, which is all well and good, but it talks about the couple serving as the monarchy called upon them to do so.
Harry and Meghan proclaimed they would serve the royal family and the Commonwealth but also seek financial independence.
The Sussex Royal Website was a slap in the face to the Queen, who didn’t want them to use the Sussex Royal title.
Harry and Meghan Did Not Have Permission from the Queen
The page itself wasn’t appropriate for them to do this, as they left the royal family. It was not part of their new working arrangements, and Harry and Meghan were announcing their “plans” with the royal family, which the Queen did not approve.
The website includes a statement about them announcing their plans to step down as functioning royals, but they continue to support the monarchy.
There is also nothing on their site concerning King Charles’s Coronation. Harry and Meghan’s Instagram page is still live, but they created the last post three years ago.
You would think that part of their reinventing themselves would be updating these pages or developing something new and relevant to their lives.
In their last post, they thanked the fans for their support, dedication, and
“shared commitment to the good in the world.”
In Omid Scobie’s royal biography, “Finding Freedom,” he said that the Queen was “blindsided” by the development of the Sussex Royal website.
Harry and Meghan’s idea was a half-in-half-out deal that was impossible for them. The Queen wanted them to either be working royals and have the privilege of using the titles or relinquish their privileges and make their own money. They disrespected the Queen and the monarchy in general.
Remember that Harry and Meghan will not be a part of the royal family’s festivities this Christmas.
