British Royal Family News says that if there’s one thing that we’ve learned about Meghan Markle over the years, it’s that she is definitely a very skilled writer. Not only did she write her lifestyle blog, The Tig, before she began her relationship with Prince Harry, but now reports say that she also wrote all of the captions for her and Prince Harry’s Sussex Royal Instagram account. Here’s what you need to know.
According to People Magazine, the Duchess of Sussex secretly wrote the captions to all of the Sussex Royal posts while the Instagram account was still active. This was her way of not only having a voice (even if it was a voice behind the scenes), but also an outlet to work on while she was at home with her newborn baby, Archie Harrison.

The new book, Finding Freedom: Harry, Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, details what went on behind the scenes with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s first joint social media account.
“Launching the account was a somewhat liberating experience for Meghan,” an anonymous aide said in the book. “Not having a platform of her own to talk directly to the public was one of the toughest changes for her, especially after building so much of her own brand on Instagram and her blog. @SussexRoyal meant that she finally had a place to curate.”
The book continues that “Meghan drafted a lot of the posts herself in the early days,” and that the work was “one of the things that kept her occupied during her final days of pregnancy.”
Although now all of the accounts and pages associated with the Sussex Royal brand are inactive, “both the Instagram account and website will remain in existence online for the foreseeable future,” a spokesperson for the couple said.
