Prince William is not playing around. After a lot of people criticized him for not traveling to Australia to support Team England for the Women’s World Cup, he did what any royal in his position would do and that’s disable the comments section on his Instagram account.
Prince William Shuts Down His Haters On Instagram By Disabling The Comments Section
But it might have been a little too late. The internet has already collectively agreed that Prince William is someone who has no excuse not to be there, considering he’s also the president of the Football Association. He would be there if it were the men’s final, so why isn’t he there for the women’s final?
Some people have commented with: “Yes, why not? I am sure he would have managed it ‘in person’ if it had been the men’s team in the World Cup Final. Simply illustrating ‘we’ still have a way to go.”
Another critic wrote, “Poor form . One way the royals can keep themselves relevant, choosing to to post a pathetic message instead of getting on a plane . If we win, what an iconic moment he is missing out on.”
Prince William Has No Excuse To Give
And then there was this comment as well, “Hard agree. He should be there. Plenty of time and if he ‘can’t make it’ then explain. Prior engagement or something else? Would he be there for the men’s World Cup final? Yes. Of course they are very different right now but, if one day that will change, be there at the start.”
There were also a lot of people who said that he simply doesn’t care about women’s football.
It’s definitely a bad look considering how his daughter Princess Charlotte is such a huge soccer fan.
It also looks pretty bad that Queen Letizia is going to Australia to support Spain along with her daughter, Princess Sophia.
So, what is Prince William’s excuse? No one knows. But for someone who keeps telling the world that he cares, it seems like he really doesn’t care. That, or he doesn’t want to make an effort.
Not only, but by silencing his critics on social media, he’s also sending out a clear message: he can’t take the heat. That’s probably why you’ll never see him pictured in a kitchen. Or at a women’s soccer game for that matter.
