The cause of Freddie’s death has yet to be revealed and Verdine did get a lot of positive thoughts in response to his post. One of his first followers to comment was Lenny Kravitz. Rest in power.” Sheila E. also wrote to Verdine, “He was a mentor, an amazing drummer, and a man who had the biggest heart. Questlove shared a very lengthy post honoring Freddie, “When it comes to “who was the spark that inspired me to drum?” Truth be told? I clocked in a fazillion hours listening to and idolizing the great Fred White. He was also one of the first left-handed drummers I ever saw. The live shows were super epic because they were the first out the gate to introduce theatrics and magic for black concerts levitating and lasers and explosions and whatnot.”
The world of music is holding a candle for the White family and the other members of Earth, Wind, and Fire.
