Nothing like a new week to fill CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers with hope for some fresh ground to be broken storyline wise.
We’re getting a semi clean slate to start things off and we have some interesting angles to explore along with some tried and true rehashes.
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers For August 22: Wash, rinse, repeat
Now that Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) has sold himself out along with any credibility as a police officer by letting Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) off the hook, Victor’s going to set his sights back onto one of his wayward sons.
Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) has once again declared he wants nothing to do with his family, and once again Victor is going to be the bereaved party for it and get tired of Adam’s complaints.
We’ll hear how he sacrifices everything for his ungrateful children and he’ll point to Chance finally becoming a dirty bop by choosing his family over justice, and it’ll only embolden Victor to push further.
‘Young and the Restless’ hope we’re wrong, but this feels like a copy and paste with some tweaks to the same argument we’ve seen a dozen times in the last year alone.
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers For August 22: Billy makes a point
With Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) finally behind her, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) may be starting to appreciate those that had her best interests at heart from the beginning.
Hence, she’s going to be more open and less combative with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) when it comes to various topics, and it looks like she’s going to get some good advice from him.
While it could be along the lines of her father being toxic and they lucked out, but we think he’ll focus more on telling her how important she is and how much she’s loved.
It’ll help her find some balance and firm ground so she can begin to move forward with her life after Ashland and her father’s antics.
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers For August 22: Putting the pieces back together
Despite Chance ending the investigation, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) knows he only did so because of the pressure Victor put on him, and because of that Nick won’t be able to find closure with what he did.
While Ashland’s death was an accident, Nick was protecting Victoria from him and it was an open and shut case from the beginning with complications coming later.
But because he won’t be able to move beyond his actions, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will help him face those memories and his own demons they’ve unleashed as they begin their next romance.
