NFL legend Tony Siragusa has died at 55 years old. The news was confirmed by his former Baltimore Ravens teammate Jamal Lewis. “It’s a sad day to be a Raven I must say,” the ex-running back said on Wednesday,

As of now, the cause of death for the former defensive lineman is not known. Siragusa came into the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent back in 1990 and became a starter by 1992. In 1997, he signed with the Baltimore Ravens and went on to be part of the legendary 2000 Raven’s defense, winning the Super Bowl.

He played alongside Ray Lewis, and Rod Woodson and helped the Raven’s defense set the record for the fewest points allowed in a regular season.

Following his NFL career, he gained national fame for his role as an NFL sideline reporter and analyst for Fox. He was very funny and had viewers rolling with his unique style and knowledge of the game.

Ravens owner Steve Bisciottialso commented on Siragusa’s passing, writing in a statement,

“Our deepest prayers and sympathies go out to Kathy, their three children and the rest of the Siragusa family. This is a tremendously sad day for the Baltimore Ravens. We appreciate everyone who has expressed an outpouring of support for our players, coaches and staff.”

We wish the best for his family and friends during this incredibly dark time. Rest in peace, Goose.

He was just 55 years old.
