The news of NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski‘s retirement was made today, as Rob said for the second time in his career that he would be packing it in and calling it a day. Rob retired once in 2018, missed the 2019 season but was coerced back in 2020 by Tom Brady in Tampa Bay, and together they went on to win yet another ring.
“Teammate, friend, brother, just a few of the words that come to mind when I think of @gronk. Nobody has ever embodied the idea of “leaving it all out on the field” like Rob has throughout his entire career. Every single snap, I knew that no matter how many people you put in front of him, he was going to get to his spot.
Even more important is the person he was off the field. Focused when he had to be, and FUN the rest of the time. Having Gronk in your locker room was every NFL players dream. I’m proud of all that we’ve accomplished together, and even more excited for all you have ahead of you.
Congrats Gronk, you deserve it.”
Tom Brady Reacts To Rob Gronkowski Retiring From The NFL: “Congrats Gronk, You Deserve It.”
Fans reacted to Brady’s post saying, “This duo will play another game together. I’m calling it now”, “Even more excited for you to unretire around week 12”, “Best QB/TE duo EVER!”, “Gonna miss those beautiful gronk spikes”, “Best bromance in NFL HISTORY!!” and “Thank you Gronk it’s not going to be the same without you!”
Gronk ends his illustrious NFL career with 9,286 receiving yards for 92 touchdowns.
Happy retirement Gronk. We hope you enjoy it.
