It’s a difficult job that someone’s got to do, right? Well thankfully this job is also fit for a future queen, too. There are new reports that say Camilla Parker-Bowles and former Bake Off judge Mary Berry are on the search for the perfect pudding to help mark Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee. How exciting! Here’s what you need to know.

Reports say that the Duchess of Cornwall and Berry are on the search to find the perfect dessert just in time for the queen’s 70th anniversary on the throne. The UK-wide competition, a collaboration between royal grocer Fortnum & Mason and the Big Jubilee Lunch, aims to find “an original and celebratory cake, tart or pudding fit for the Queen.”

Thousands of keen bakers and patissiers have been tasked with the job of creating an iconic dish which is not only delicious but also “makeable in a home kitchen, telling a story, and having the potential to stand the test of time and become Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Pudding.”

The quest to mark the monarch’s Platinum Jubilee with a new signature dessert follows a long tradition of inventive baking in honor of royal celebrations, from Coronation Chicken for the Queen’s coronation, to the Victoria sponge named after Queen Victoria.

Meanwhile, back in February, Camilla said that she was “honored” to be named the future Queen Consort by Her Majesty. She said that she is “very honored and very touched” by Queen Elizabeth for giving her the title as the future ‘Queen Consort’ once her husband Prince Charles becomes king of England.

This was the first time that the 74-year-old had spoken publicly about the honor since it was announced at the weekend as the Queen marked 70 years since she acceded to the throne. She made her comments as she marked the opening of a west London community kitchen. During the tour, Camilla was asked by a visitor, who gave his name as DJ, how she felt about the title. The duchess replied: “I feel very honored – very honored and very touched.”
