British royal family news has revealed that Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles will next week become the first members of the royal family to leave lockdown. The couple have been spending their period of lockdown at Balmoral, but they are set to return to Clarence House next week, as a special visitor is coming to the United Kingdom.
Charles and Camilla have endured a more turbulent period in lockdown than most, with Charles having COVID-19 at the beginning of lockdown. The couple were forced to self-isolate away from each other for two weeks, before they were emotionally reconnected after that period has passed.
British Royal Family News: First Royals To Leave Lockdown
Royal family fans will be delighted to see members of the family back in public, as it would give an indicator that things could slowly be getting back to normal. Charles and Camilla will leave their Balmoral home next week, as they have a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday in London.
There is a very good meeting for the reason, with the UK and France both celebrating the 80th anniversary of General Charles de Gaulle’s plea to France not to give up and hand over the occupation of their country to Germany during the Second World War. However, Charles and Camilla will not be the first royals back to active life. Princess Anne will be the first to return to work when she attends the Duke of Gloucester Barracks earlier in the week.
British Royal Family News: Macron’s Second Reason For Visit
While to commemorate the life of Charles de Gaulle is the main reason for the French Presidents visit, he will also be attending the UK to bestow an honour on London. Macron will give the city the Legion d’Honneur. The accolade is the highest decoration that can be given in France.
Charles and Camilla haven’t been relaxing for the past couple of months however. They have continued to fulfil their royal duties throughout lockdown by taking part in various video calls and recording various video messages. Charles reportedly said that he is ‘pleased’ to be on hand to welcome Macron into the country next week.
