Recently, Amanda Bynes was released from her 9 year conservatorship, a move which we all applauded. However we do wonder if someone may have talked her into a career move that is decidedly… weird. We thought that Amanda was pretty much leaving the entertainment industry, after all, she has a degree in fashion and seemed to be focused on that at least during her conservatorship.

But her current boyfriend Paul Michael might have a little something else to say about that. Because along with him, she has released a song called “Diamonds” and not just any song, but a rap song.

    Amanda Bynes tries rapping?

Now, back in Amanda’s heyday she didn’t really do music, even though a lot of her movie star counterparts did and that’s how some even got their start in the entertainment industry. However it looks like now she’s attempting to get her foot in the door and the reception is decidedly… less than warm.

It would be one thing if Amanda showed any sort of affinity towards music, as previously stated she never really has. Her lawyer, who has been doing a lot of publicity for her lately has said that she had great fun recording the song with her boyfriend and we don’t doubt that, but sometimes… the finished product is just… for lack of better terminology “lackluster”.

Amanda’s voice sounds flat, it sounds like she’s trying to “front” and sound a lot more “hood” than she actually is. If she lost the edge to her voice and took on a more natural and less robotic tone then perhaps the song would’ve been salvagable? Or at least in the “so bad its good” category, instead we’ve got this flat sounding spoken word thing that sounds like it should’ve been released on soundcloud and promptly buried instead of releasing it on spotify and apple music.

The music itself isn’t even redeemable, the beat is forgettable and the song is alltogether just unpleasant sounding. It sounds like it could be a demonic cult song, not that it is, but if a demonic cult happened to choose this particular song as their themesong the vibe would fit. Maybe Amanda needs to just stick with fashion instead. Stay tuned!!!
