According to Britney Spears’ lawyer, Matthew Rosengart, father Jamie Spears has now twice refused to sit for his deposition. Rosengart said in a statement to the press outside the LA County Courthouse today that they have filed the paperwork and served him with papers stating where and when he needs to show up for his deposition.

However, Jamie Spears did not show up the first time they had a date set for him, nor the second time they had a date set for him.

Jamie Spears’ refuses to sit for his deposition

When asked what measures that he would take to ensure that Jamie Spears shows up for his deposition, Rosengart said that he would file a motion to compel him to be deposed and that he looked forward to taking his deposition.

All of the Britney Army is waiting with bated breath for that deposition to happen, and if anyone can get it done, it’s Matthew Rosengart. He has proven that he is not afraid of Jamie Spears, and that unlike some other people that we could name, has nothing but Britney’s best interest at heart.

Since Jamies Spears seems to think he can skirt past this whole thing without saying a word, it seems that this is going to be the next logical step in legal matters for Britney’s case – compelling her Dad to show up.

We’re not sure how it works for depositions exactly, but if you are compelled to show up in court and testify, the judge can give a warrant for your arrest if you don’t show up.

Again, we’re not sure how this would work in the case of a deposition, maybe an officer is sent to your location and you are driven to the deposition location in a squad car. Either way, it looks like Jamie Spears is going to try to outrun the long arm of the law, but we all know that by this point it’s basically a losing battle.

He needs to step up and take his medicine like the grown man that he is and have some accountability for what he has done. We have faith that Rosengart can make him do that. Stay tuned!!!
