Britney Spears was reportedly very close to Prince William prior to his marriage to Kate Middleton.

That is according to author Christopher Andersen in his book, ‘Brothers and Wives: Inside the Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry and Meghan.’
Britney and William could not be from more different worlds. The former has just found her freedom after becoming detached from her conservatorship which had plagued her for around 13 years.
But given that both Britney and William grew up in the public eye, it is not out of the realms of possibilities that the two may have had some things in common.
During an interview with Us Weekly, Christopher said: “[William and Spears] tried to get together back when they were young.
“He also had a kind of similar cyber relationship with Lauren Bush [niece of President [George W. Bush.” Nevertheless, this was something that failed to materialise. On reflection, it is easy to see why.
First of all, both are living on opposite sides of the world. Therefore, it would have been extremely difficult for either to relocate to a new country.
Secondly, this would most likely have been frowned upon by the Royals, much like what has happened with Meghan Markle. That is why any connection remained virtual.
He added: “There may have been phone conversations, but I don’t recall that they ever actually managed to get together during that period.”
Thankfully for everyone involved, that decision could not have worked out any better. Both Britney and William are in a very good place with their respective partners.
Not only that, but both have managed to settle down and have children, as well as making a significant contribution to the world through their line of work.
But it is William’s desire to break traditional Royal stereotypes, which has been praised by Christopher. He continued: “I think that those [breaking stereotypes] are things that Diana would have loved.
It is great to see William and Britney in a good place. They have been through a lot in their lives, but they are now in a much happier place.
