It looks like there are fewer and fewer people in the entertainment industry that are willing to stick up for Alec Baldwin. In fact, fellow Hollywood actor George Clooney couldn’t help but admit that the deadly shooting on the set of Alec’s film “Rust” was “insane.”
Alec fired a prop gun at the film’s director of photography Halyna Hutchins, who died from her injuries. The film’s director Joel Souza was also shot but survived his injuries. Here’s what you need to know.
George Clooney Thinks The “Rust” Shooting Is Bonkers Too
While on the WTF podcast, George Clooney says he doesn’t even know how the deadly accident even happened in the first place, seeing how Hollywood has such strict rules and protocols when it comes to guns on set.
“Maybe they weren’t even using that gun to do target practice, but they had live ammo with dummies,” George said of “all this s–t we’ve been seeing with all the Alec Baldwin stuff. And that is insane. It’s insane. It’s infuriating.”
He also said that despite having “been on sets for 40 years,” he has never heard of some of the apparent safety measures Alec’s movie had used on the deadly set.
George continued, “First of all, I’ve never heard the term ‘cold gun.’ I’ve never heard that term. Literally, they’re just talking about stuff I’ve never heard of. It’s just infuriating. Every single time I’m handed a gun on a set — every time — they hand me a gun, I look at it, I open it, I show it to the person I’m pointing it to, we show it to the crew. Everyone does it. Everybody knows.”
Meanwhile, Alec and his wife Hilaria Baldwin – both dressed to the nines – were spotted departing New York City sushi hotspot BONDST. They dined with Hilaria’s hairstylist Jared Riccardi. The pair have been back in the Big Apple for a few days after hiding out in Vermont.
