‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers recently revealed that Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) will be exiting Salem. This leaves one to wonder what will happen with his character, Stefan DiMera. Here are what we see as the only two options.
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: Short stay
Brandon Barash took over the part from departing actor Tyler Christopher back in March of this year. This short tenure has been a whirlwind for Stefan. In this time, he’s had a romance with Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin), been scammed by Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus), framed for kidnapping and murder, and his latest twist might just be his undoing.
On a personal level, his tenure has been marked by lots of rumors of a Tyler Christopher return to daytime. This has left many to wonder if we’ll see the previous Stefan’s return, or if Tyler is heading to General Hospital.
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: Beginning of the end?
As for that twist that may be his undoing, Stefan recently learned his dead mother, Vivian Alamain (Robin Strasser) is very much alive. Not only that, but she’s been itching to get revenge on the woman who made her one of Dr. Wilhelm Rolf’s (William Utay) patients: Kate DiMera (Lauren Koslow). After shooting Kate and attempting to suffocate her in the hospital, this led to an altercation with the Salem PD that saw Stefan shot in the neck and with no brain activity.

But back to what happened, Vivian’s impromptu return led to tension between him and Gabi, as well as lying to the Salem PD about his mother’s whereabouts in an attempt to protect her. That did not sit well with Gabi at first, but she did play along.
However, things got very heated recently when Stefan discovered a disguise Vivian used to try finishing Kate off after her intended victim managed to somehow claw her way out of a grave and crawl to a hospital. Vivian accused Stefan of siding with a woman he’s known for a short time over his own mother. She was so angry, she even made a threat against her wayward son. So where does this leave Stefan?
‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers: Option Return From the Dead Or Sinister Twin Syndrome
DOOL spoilers indicate that the door is left very open for a return of the character. Stefan’s already lied to the police about his mother’s role in Kate’s attack. He’s also covered up evidence by taking that doctor disguise. If there is any photo or video at the hospital that shows Vivian was there, well they already shot Stefan… However, it’s looking like Stefan might have a twin and that twin could have been the one murdered in his stead. Needless to say, DOOL writers like to keep us viewers on our toes.
One thing is for sure, Stefan is a central character in Salem and his imprmptu death leaves many holes and gaps in the storyline. So it definitely makes sense to attempt to bring him back in some form, whether that is by Stefan actually not being the person that was shot, or by some other means.

As of now it looks Stefan is not fully done even though Brandon is exiting the show. On the other hand, there is no official confirmation of Christopher’s return to TV. We’re just going to have to wait and see if there’s any future left in Salem for one of its most hated residents. We hope there is, because the character is too great to stay gone.
