‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers have found that NBC is doing a whole lot of toying with its DOOL fans these days as it teases that we are in for a devil of a fall. On Monday they put out this statement:
“The original story began in 1994 when the wicked Stefano DiMera began hypnotizing Marlena (Deidre Hall) his ‘Queen of the Night.’ The hypnosis meant to make her fall in love with him left her open to demonic possession and ultimately led to Marlena becoming possessed by the devil.

Later that year (on Christmas eve) in one of the most memorable moments in American pop culture history, Marlena levitated. The story continued through 1995 and concluded that summer when John Black, her now-husband who was thought to be a priest at the time, had to perform an emergency exorcism.
When ‘Days of Our Lives’ revisits the storyline this fall, fans can look forward to twists and turns you’d never suspect as well as familiar faces returning to save the day (or not) …. this time around, the devil knows no bounds and no one in Salem is safe!”
Yup. Here we go again.
While some called the ‘94 storyline groundbreaking, others the most ridiculous storyline on a soap ever (this was still a couple of years before Passions came in and upended soap operas, soooo….). Love it or hate it, the possession of Marlena is still being talked about, something that (Re-)Ron Carlivati, DOOL head writer, surely hopes will happen this time.
I guess it’s already working but you can bet your bottom dollar they wouldn’t be trying this if they’d only managed to secure a one year deal to stay on the air!
Months back Deidre warned fans of surprises that were in store and that the storyline would go somewhere that all viewers would find shocking. It is presumed now she was alluding to the fact that she will soon enough be lying around 6 feet above her bed with her Bonnie Tyler-esque bright eyes once more. We can only hope that it doesn’t drag on nine months like last time.
Please Mr. Carlivati, the power of fans’ sanity compels you!
