‘Days of Our Lives (DOOL)’ spoilers reveal there’s been a lot going on in Salem lately. With new faces, recasts, comings and goings, you sometimes never know what is going to happen next. It was just announced in a report from TV Line that another actor change is about to happen. However, it will be a familiar face. Here’s what you need to know.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Welcome back
First, Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal a big-name character was recast following the production shutdown. Melissa Reeves chose not to return to work at that time. In her absence, Cady McClain was brought in to play Jennifer Horton as a big secret about Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) came out. McClain was written out as Jennifer had to go tend to her mother’s estate. However, TVLine reports a source said the character will be back in time for Christmas. This time, she’ll be played by Reeves.
Some fans were thrilled with the news, calling her the true Jennifer. Others preferred McClain’s performance, while some expressed displeasure with Reeves’ social media activity not long before the recast. What do we think?

First, we tend to ignore a lot of the political drama and whatnot that happens online. We just go strictly by what we see onscreen. While we see why some fans would be attached to an actress who’s played the part for decades, we’ve only been enjoying the world of Salem for a few years now. So, we haven’t got the same history with the character/actress as others.
That being said, we have to say we prefer McClain. We loved her performances after Jack’s one night with Kate DiMera (Lauren Koslow) was exposed. And we think the character tends to come off as more judgmental and preachy when played by Reeves, although it could be the writing. Sometimes, they do adjust that for new actors. Either way, the return seems to be set, and we’re curious about what’s to come.

We’ll say this much: Reeves won’t have a lack of material to play, that’s for sure. Days of Our Lives spoilers indicate Jack has been letting certain people stay at the house. While Jennifer ended up okaying these stays, things have gotten complicated. Last we saw Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) and Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien), they had a lot of explaining to do over a dead body.
Of course, a lot of this is going to depend on what happens with this two. If Gwen’s miscarriage secret stays hidden, we can see Jack wanting to stand by and defend Gwen, who’ll likely present herself as the victim of an opportunist who tried to intimate her into doing his dirty work. It’s likely Jennifer would be a bit put off by this, given that this will be the second time Gwen was involved in an “accidental” death. She won’t see that as coincidence—not when her own mother was one of the dead.
If the secret comes out, though, it might be the end of the Horton ride for Gwen. And we could see Jennifer being a support system for Jack as he deals with the fallout. With her having been off the canvas so long, it’s hard to see much else for her to do right now. Not unless the writers hand her a new story. We’ll be curious to see how this will play out.
