‘General Hospital (GH)’ spoilers reveal Ava Jerome (Maura West) is a complicated character. We’ve loved watching her evolve from the person who was holding her relationship with Not-Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) over everyone’s heads. Not to mention, unknowingly putting anyone who she complained about in danger.
Today, she’s a different character than that woman apparently desperate for the approval of others. Let’s take a look at how she ruled the episode the other day, but why Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) might be right.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The end
This week, Ava had a major scare. Someone left a bear with Ryan Chamberlain’s (Lindstrom) voice on it. The recording was all about wanting to be a family, and Ava lost it. She couldn’t believe someone got that close to her young daughter, so she decided to send Avery Corinthos-Jerome (Ava and Grace Scarola) to live with Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright).
This was the last straw. We loved her pointing out that a mob family is safer than them right now, and that’s just not okay. She told Nicolas this had to end for Avery’s sake, because she wouldn’t lose another daughter. The power in West’s voice as she said she won’t have this was chilling.
As was her darker turn when she promised if Nicolas didn’t leave, she would do anything necessary to rid herself of him. You know that Ava would be capable of anything, especially if she believes it will save Avery, so we think Nicolas would be wise to back off a bit.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Never that easy
Of course, right after Ava begged him to walk away while she still loved him, Nicolas is apparently a stubborn man. He did leave, as asked. However, not without promising this wasn’t over. He’s planning to hold on to this marriage, so this is likely to be an ugly clash of Titans.
However, we think Ava will be the one to come out victorious in a fight. Nicolas might have resources and be willing to go a bit dark, but we think Ava is capable of going much darker than he is. However, we do think Nicolas will ultimately be proven right in this debate over whether to break up or not.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The real stalker?
We had our ideas as to who is really behind this. But the more time that passes, the more we’re convinced the real stalker is Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel). We laid out some reasons earlier, but the big breakup makes us more convinced than ever. Nicolas is sure someone’s just trying to scare her to break them apart and begged her not to allow it. We think he’ll be proven right.
But say Spencer really is trying to keep Ava out of his father’s life. What then? We really don’t think Ava will react well to that, and it might just make her want to stay away from Nicolas. After all, what’s the point of dealing with a stepson who’s willing to go that far?
As for Nicolas, we think he’s going to be torn. Obviously, he was willing to choose being with Ava knowing that it would estrange him from his son even more. So, we’re sure on some level he’ll be furious if Spencer is, in fact, the guilty party. However, it also really hurts him that Spencer’s so distant. So, there’s a chance this extreme behavior could actually work and make Nicolas devote all his time and energy to Spencer.
If that’s the case, we think it will partly be to protect Spencer. Nicolas has gone to some dark places and made a lot of mistakes. So, seeing Spencer go that far could be taken as a cry for help and a need to be more present to keep Spencer from embracing the darker side of his family tree. We’ll see how things play out, but we’re sure no matter what happens, these actors are going to own it.
