‘Doubling Down with the Derrico’ Spoilers reveal that Deon Derrico and his Mom, Grandma GG Derrico, are very divided about their religious beliefs right now. Deon apparently read the old testament and took it to heart, when the bible said to have hundreds of children, he took that literally!
So when GG comes at him, attemping to apologize but saying that she feels like that there should be a line when they have ‘enough’ children, we can all sort of sympathize. After all, GG isn’t getting any younger.
‘Doubling Down with the Derrico’: Have a heart, Deon!
She said that she feels like that just when they get things settled and they can just enjoy all of them being a family, they have a new little one running around and she feels like it’s starting over. Granted, Deon and Karen always tell her that they don’t ask her to do much, but GG said that as she ages, she has more “bad” days than good days.
To people like Deon, it seems that he hasn’t really realized that his Mom is human yet. It takes some people the remainder of their lives to realize that their parents are human and it just hasn’t occured to Deon yet. GG says that he’s probably still looking at her from a picture of good health, but even people in good health get tired.
She says some days she feels like she is going to collapse when taking care of the kids, and honestly… I can see it. I can definitely see where GG would be completely exhausted taking care of 14 children. So when dealing with GG’s sheer exhaustion, Deon needs to be a little bit more sympathetic.
The way I see it, GG may seem unsupportive but she’s genuinely not trying to be, she’s simply exhausted, and it’s not a kind of tired that a simple nap or a vacation can fix. After all, she wasn’t used to this last year, they just saw her periodically, she didn’t live in Vegas. But now, with her living just down the street, Grandma GG is way more accessible to the kids than just on holidays, and that means more Grandma visits.
Which also means more opportunities for Grandma to get tired. I’m with GG, the bible was written when the world was new and when there wasn’t that many people around – there’s more than enough people to populate the earth, Deon, but thanks for your contribution. Stay tuned!!!
