TLC is known for bringing on new families and showing us their lives. They have announced another large family coming to the network and fans will be excited to hear about the Shemwells. If you love the Duggars and the Plaths, you are going to truly love what the Blended Bunch has in store for you.
TLC ‘The Shemwells’ Spoilers: Who Are The Shemwells?
It all began when Erica Shemwell lost her husband to cancer and Spencer Shemwell lost his wife in a tragic accident. Erica told cameras, “Spencer has four kids and I have seven, so between the two of us, that’s 11 kids. We’re both widowed, I mean, we lost our previous spouses. My husband, Tony, passed away from brain cancer three years ago. I feel like my heart was ripped out of my chest.”

Spencer added, “I lost my wife, Aimee, in a car accident. I remember sitting the kids all in my lap. I said, ‘Mommy passed away.’ I thought there was no way that I could ever love anyone like Aimee. I think we’re like the modern-day Brady Bunch. Except we have no Alice. We need an Alice.” The couple has now blended both of their families together and the children range in age from 3 to 12 years old.
Although Spencer and Erica are ready to start their new life together, there are some people in their lives that don’t think this is going to work.
The children are very unsure of the new life that they are all about to be in and Erica’s brother, Quinn, doesn’t seem to be onboard. He has been very vocal about the new relationship. He told her, “As your brother, I think about if I died, I don’t know if I would want my kid to have somebody else’s last name.”
There will be some tears and sadness on the show too. Erica will talk to cameras about how she feels about Spencer and how sometimes she gets weird feelings from him.
“Sometimes I really just wonder if there are moments when Spencer wishes that Aimee was here instead of me.” Spencer has panic attacks and she thinks that they are because of his wife’s death and she feels that this could have been too quickly.
No one grieves the same and we will see this on the new TLC show, The Blended Bunch. The Blended Bunch will premiere on TLC on Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. EST. Look for it on March 16.
