‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers reveal we’ve made no secret of being unhappy with the series of weddings and how they’ve turned out. It looks like we’re close to seeing one of these couples implode. And the thing is, we think there’s only one party to blame. Let’s take a look at what’s happened and what we see ahead.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: The beginning…
First, ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) and Eric Brady (Greg Vaughn) finally got married after about two decades of trouble. However, the wedding didn’t exactly go off without a hitch. Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) showed up and caused all kinds of chaos at their big day.
Even so, they looked poised to make it. Besides the brief Sami incident, they were united, happy, and Eric even lied to protect Nicole when Sami tried to use Nicole’s past Henry’s custody case. However, we’re seeing another side to Eric now that we’re not liking.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Bad move
So, Nicole had great intentions. When she found out Eric was wanted for missionary work, she encouraged him to go. She was willing to sacrifice and be without him for a little while in support of a good cause.
Plus, she didn’t want him to be unhappy and resentful over missing the chance. This left her all alone through the Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) mess, and led to a disappointing return that didn’t happen. Sure, it was beyond his control, but it still stung. And the situation got worse.
See, Eric was supposed to come home again. Nicole was so excited, she enlisted Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) to help plan a party for Eric’s return. Except there won’t be a return. At least, for a while. Literally the minute she left Roman, she got a call from Eric. He’s staying another three months. Here’s where we see nothing but disaster ahead.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: The end?
So, what’s next? ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal Nicole was completely blindsided by the news. In fact, she kind of lost it a moment after she got off the phone with Eric. And we don’t blame her at all.
The first missed return, we can excuse. People can’t predict things like weather, mechanical issues, etc. But agreeing to stay longer is a deliberate choice. And he made it without consulting Nicole first.
That’s not the kind of thing a husband or wife should do, and obviously, Nicole is hurt. We see this as possibly being a final straw situation. Especially if he misses that next deadline.
Of course, whether Eric returns and how it goes depends a lot of the writers. They’ve either got to convince Vaughan to come back, or recast. But we’ll say this—if Eric doesn’t show up in Salem soon, Nicole will likely be sending him papers to sign.
And she should. Given how she and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) have been with each other lately, we think they’ll both find comfort in each other. He’s, after all, still sort of hurting from Hope Brady’s (Kristian Alfonso) sudden departure as well.
Honestly, we can’t help but root for her and Rafe at this point. They’re an interesting pairing, and both are getting put through the wringer so they deserve something good. Let’s just hope Eric doesn’t decide to pay a surprise visit after, should they get together.
