La Reina del Sur spoilers for Monday, May 27th are pointing to some hard times ahead for the team surrounding Teresa Mendoza (Kate del Castillo), and Epifanio Vargas’ (Humberto Zurita) family are not off-limits. If you missed all the action, let’s catch you up with today’s La Reina del Sur recap.

La Reina del Sur spoilers: Viajes and in-fighting

There are a couple of trips going on today, one being Teresa’s journey to Culiacán to start on her mission to take out Zurdo Villa (Flavio Medina). Everyone is packed and ready to go, but Rocío Aljarafe (Sara Vidorreta) doesn’t seem to like Ray Dávila’s (Alejandro Speitzer) obvious thing for her sister. Adding to the potential trouble is Oleg Yasikov (Antonio Gil).

He is giving death looks like whoa to Francesco Belmondo (Raoul Bova), who Teresa has brought there against Oleg’s wishes. He’s not hiding his obvious suspicions, nor his displeasure at Teresa seeming to ignore it all. As Teresa prepares to get in Francesco’s car to leave, Oleg is watching them intently. However, this may end up being a good thing she did as this gives her some interesting intel for Oleg later on when they reconnect at the agreed meeting spot. We’ll get to that in a little bit…

Also traveling today is Sofia Dantes (Isabella Sierra), who’s being brought to her mother’s old stomping grounds for safe keeping. She seems about ready to pull another escape trick, but César “Batman” Güemes (Alejandro Calva) is ready for her. When they don’t see her anywhere in the back of the truck, he grabs the cat and tells the men with him to get rid of it. That makes Sofia jump out from under the mattress she was hiding under and reluctantly join them inside.
Later on, she’s sitting in a room alone when Francesco comes back. She’s curious about where he went, and asks if he was with her mother. He denies it, but Sofia calls him out as a mentiroso because her mother’s perfume is all over him.

La Reina del Sur spoilers: Guerra de los Vargas

Epifanio’s family has no idea what they’ve gotten into—especially Carmen Martínez (Patricia Reyes Spíndola). After her little stunt, which resulted in her priest’s death, she had come to Epifanio’s house to accuse him of the murder. She’s smart. Epifanio obviously denies having any part in this, but their talk doesn’t last long. Seems there’s another consequence to Carmen’s power play.
At her home, Jimena Montes (María Camila Giraldo) and Virginia Vargas (Vera Mercado) are arguing about where Jimena’s been all night. She claims to have been with a boyfriend, but during this whole thing, her bag falls and exposes a gun that was inside. They immediately call Carmen and get her home, where they are convinced that someone is trying to set Jimena up for this murder.

La Reina del Sur spoilers: Time Warp

Remember when we mentioned some interesting intel passed on to Oleg before? Well, Teresa finds it while taking a trip down memory lane with Francesco. She visits the place where she once lived with Raimundo “El Güero” Dávila Parra (Rafael Amaya). It’s being taken care of by a man named Jose Rodriguez. He handles the pool and landscaping, while also supervising some maids. Teresa is a bit surprised to learn he knows who she is, but he says everyone here knows Teresa. Plus, there are pictures of her inside. He lets them in, and Teresa is taken aback. Everything in the house is exactly as she left it, right down to the music by the CD player. They question the man, but he claims not to know who actually owns the house. All he knows is, an envelope filled with money shows up on schedule each time. This whole thing is creeping Teresa out, plus is painful. She’d left the place in a rush twenty years ago after El Güero died—the day of their anniversary. She even had a gift ready for him that is still sitting on a table. Before they leave, Teresa notices a wall that’s covered. She pulls the cover aside to see pictures that point to Zurdo.

The man himself is punishing a wayward employee when word comes in that Teresa had dropped by her old home for a visit. He’s the owner, and the caretaker was a totally liar. The man called Zurdo’s place to alert him.

La Reina del Sur spoilers: Goodbye, Pablo

Also today, we say goodbye to Captain Pablo Flores (Juan José Arjona), who was hot on the trail of Los Pernas. He’d followed them in hopes of Siso Pernas (Miguel Ángel Blanco) and the rest in, but after briefly losing them, he finds the vehicles parked outside what looks like a big shed. He and his partner are looking for them when they get taken by surprise. Siso then has Flores tied up inside the shed and proceeds to dispose of his enemy in one of the grossest ways possible. He takes a huge rodent, then traps it on Flores’ stomach with a metal pail. He then has the pail heated up, so that the rodent will panic and do what they do best: dig holes to escape. Yikes.
