On ‘90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way’, we have been introduced to Steven Johnston and his girlfriend, Alina. Steven is a devout Mormon and now fans are concerned about his relationship views and opinions and how he is supposed to act as a Mormon. There have been a lot of secrets coming out about him and now fans think that he is a bit hypocritical in his relationships. What is it that fans think about him?
’90 Day Fiancé’: Alina and Steven’s Romance
Alina has already told cameras that she grew up thinking that Mormons were much like a cult. She is nervous about his religion and he wants her to convert so they can get married. He told viewers that he expects her to remain pure for him and when she converts, they can take their relationship to another level. However, we learned in the last episode of the show that he isn’t actually a virgin anymore!
We were all shocked when Alina opened up to cameras and told viewers that Steven was wanting to see other women and had a lot of females in his life in Utah. He also told Alina that they will be staying in separate places in Turkey when he flies there to see her. He doesn’t want the temptations of sex to be there when he arrives and that is why they are sleeping in different rooms.
Fans were quick to start in on his ways on Reddit. One fan wrote, “This guy is a trip. He can’t do cohabitation because of religion, but it’s fine to have casual sex before marriage but not with Alina.” One more wrote, “I knew a Mormon guy like him… Did drugs, drank alcohol, slept with whoever, and dated outside his religion. But when asked about marriage? He would only marry a Mormon girl was a virgin.”
Many viewers think that he has no right to tell her she has to convert and remain a virgin when he has already broken this rule of his religion. Why does he get to have sex and Alina has to wait around? It just doesn’t make any sense and he needs to hold himself to the same standards for this to work. Fans of the show continue to warn her about all the red flags that they see and we hope that she will see them.
