In the ever-changing saga that is Deavan Clegg’s life, she has now come out with what she says is “the truth” about her divorce from former hubby Jihoon Lee. She says that now that the divorce is finalized and that she no longer has an NDA with TLC, she can release her documentary.
We’ll be waiting on that, because it’s been what… 2 years now? Yeah, we’re still waiting. Either way. She said that when she originally “moved” to Korea the original idea was never to actually move there, that they had planned a trip to Korea but TLC wanted them to stay and film scenes in Korea like they were going to move there.
’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers: Okay then, Deavan…
She also said that the court case was done in the US since that was the place where Taeyang (her son) had lived the longest, he was only in Korea for 7 months of his life and that one month of that was actually still in the US. She said that the judge awarded her sole custody of the child, and that it has been two years since Jihoon has even reached out to his son.
She said that she had tried to schedule zoom visits with him but apparently Jihoon never shows up for those, at least according to her. She did say that Jihoon’s apparent lack of interest in having a relationship with the child was a decision factor in the custody battle, and that the judge.
She also said of Jihoon’s parents and Grandparents that no one has reached out to her since she left Korea, in spite of her having Jihoon’s Grandpa’s facebook page. So we guess it’s out of sight, out of mind?
Then again, so much bad blood has passed… can you really blame them for not trying to reach out? She said of the show that 96% of what we saw on the show was fake and that by the time we saw them in Vegas, they were already married on paper. She said that it wasn’t really hers or Jihoon’s idea to get married for real, but rather it was his parents’ idea to make it work. Interesting!
She said that they both thought that feelings would ‘happen later on’ which is an interesting way to describe someone you’ve had a baby with. She said that looking back at the footage she thought it was obvious that they didn’t like each other, but apparently to us viewers it looked enough like love to have us fooled. That’s some clever editing there.
Although, if it was 96% fake then 4% of it had to have been real because it culiminated in a miscarriage for Deavan. She said that after the teahouse was when they were ‘done’ and anything after that, they were just filming to get paid.
She said the wedding was basically a sham and that she just stayed in Korea to film it because she was originally going to fly back with her Mom. So apparently anyone can look like they’re in love and having a happily ever after time of it with enough clever editing? Aha, got it.
But not everyone is buying these claims of Devan’s. A lot of the people on social media think that Deavan’s entire story sounds fishy and doesn’t actually add up, and maybe it’s just because of the way it’s put forth on instagram, but they have a point. Some of the things don’t actually add up to what we saw on-screen, or what we were told at the time on social media by Deavan… so why is she changing her story now? Do NDAs really hold that much power? Stay tuned!!!
