In another crazy twist, another Love Is Blind couple is getting divorced. Just a week after Jarrette Jones and Iyanna McNeely announced their split, now Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson have announced that they will be getting a divorce as well.
Love Is Blind: Another One Bites The Dust
When Danielle and Nick were on the show together, they had quite an interesting relationship. Many viewers weren’t sure that they would make it because of the communication and jealousy issues that they had. They battled things out in their relationship and they decided that they would stay married and try life together.
Love Is Blind: Danielle Ruhl Shockingly Files For Divorce One Year After Marriage to Nick Thompson
This news comes as quite a shock since Danielle still has his last name on her Instagram account (as of August 21) and they were just at Lollapalooza together with their friends earlier in the month. Just last month, they went on a beach vacation and posted a lot of pictures of themselves together and everything really did seem great.
According to the court record in Cook County in Illinois, Danielle filed for divorce on August 15. Fans of the show were really upset to hear that they were getting a divorce. They are the final couple left from the show and it has a lot of fans and former cast mates thinking that perhaps the Love Is Blind experiment just doesn’t work.
The show, which streams on Netflix, is hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey. The pairs are paired up based on who makes a deeper connection in their pod. The cast members will have deep and intimate chats through a wall and they will never see each other until one of them proposes. When they meet the other, they will then go on to get ready for their wedding. At the altar, they can decide to get married or walk away.
Nick told fans in March, “We’ve put frameworks in place for communication. We’ve had to force ourselves through some conversations about what we actually need at that moment and have worked on being able to articulate that. Sometimes that means walking away for a little bit or sometimes that means, ‘Let’s table it and drop it and forget about it.’ There are so many different things that we’re applying to our communication style that has really given us a good step forward.”
These two had some serious issues with communication on the show. Could this be the thing that tore them apart in the end?
