Tiger Woods appeared to be crying on the 18th fairway while playing golf on Friday morning, just before officially missing the cut at The Open. The emotional video of the incident captures the moment perfectly. Woods, who set a goal to attend the British Open at St. Andrews this year after suffering a serious leg injury in a car accident in February 2021, struggled throughout the first two days of the competition and failed to advance to the weekend.

He subsequently received a thunderous ovation from the spectators on his final hole of his second round on Friday, and he was unable to contain his emotions. As he moved toward his ball close to the green, cameras caught Woods wiping away tears for a while.

Tiger eventually regained his composure, making a par to finish the competition with a score of +9. Woods admitted afterward that he became overly emotional on the course because he might never again compete in the Open at St. Andrews.

The 46-year-old, who has won two Open championships at St. Andrews, said, “I don’t know if I’ll be physically able to play another British Open here at St. Andrews,” said the 46-year-old, who’s previously won two Opens at the famous course. “I certainly feel like I’ll be able to play more British Opens. But, I don’t know if I’ll be around when it comes back around here.”

It’s crazy to see a time when Tiger Woods would miss the cut for The Open. It’s honestly incredible that he had even made it out to play after everything he has experienced over the last few years. We wish him the best and congratulations to all of the incredible players who made the cut.
