Golfing legend Tiger Woods is set to play in this week’s Masters tournament. He made the announcement at a news conference in Augusta saying, “as of right now” he is prepared to tee off when the tournament begins on Thursday and not just that, he believes he will be winning the event.
The 46-year-old said, “I can hit it just fine. I don’t have any qualms about what I can do physically from a gold standpoint.”
It looks like Woods’ battle will be in his own head and if he can stay calm and collected during the event and big moments.

However, he does have one thing that is kind of worrying him and that’s walking around the course on his leg that he had surgically repaired after his car accident in February 2021. He’s getting his work in before the tournament though, as he’s played multiple practice rounds at August the last few days in order to make sure he can stand walking around for the duration of the event.
Since his car accident, he has only competed once where he played in the PNC Championship in December alongside his son, Charlie Woods.
While he won’t be returning as a full-time golfer, he has said that he would like to pick and choose a few events a year to compete in, and it looks like he’s ‘picked and choosed’ the Masters which is a hell of a thing if you can pull it off. Of course, he’s Tiger Woods so it shouldn’t be a problem.
The Masters are set to kick off Thursday this week in Augusta.
