‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that end of an era is upon us as the legendary Robert Newman (Ashland Locke) will be stepping away from the character. Robert put out a video on his Twitter page thanking everyone for his time on the show and now there seems to be no mystery. Ashland Locke… is dead.
In his clip, he says, “Today, for a moment I just want to talk for a minute to The Young and the Restless fans. I think it’s appropriate now for me to finally be able to say thank you so much for letting me be a part of the legacy of this great show.” He continues to tell us that the scenes of him being killed at the hands of Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) were, in fact, real. “Just to clarify, the scenes you saw the other day of Ashland dying at the hands of Nick were, in fact, my last scenes on the show. The end of my contract. Those were shot about five weeks ago.”

I just subscribed to your YouTube channel & I wished you the best in your next endeavors.”
Newman will now be starring in shows in Michigan and welcomes anyone to come see him and says he would be more than willing to take photos and give autographs. Thank you for your portrayal of Ashland Locke, Robert. We will not soon forget the impact he had on Genoa City.
