Jim Harbaugh, who is vehemently opposed to abortion, has stated that if one of his University of Michigan football players became pregnant unexpectedly and the couple decided to have a child, he would be willing to raise the child. Harbaugh doubled down on his comments saying,

“I’ve told [them] the same thing I tell my kids, boys, the girls, same thing I tell our players, our staff members. I encourage them if they have a pregnancy that wasn’t planned, to go through with it, go through with it.”

He continued to say, “Let that unborn child be born, and if at that time, you don’t feel like you can care for it, you don’t have the means or the wherewithal, then Sarah and I will take that baby.”

58-year-old Harbaugh talked about having the “courage to let the unborn be born” during his anti-abortion speech. Jim explains that even though it may be challenging, speaking out about the contentious subject is crucial for America.

“I just think this issue of life, save a life, the abortion issue is one that is so big that it needs to be talked about,” Harbaugh said. “It’s a life or death type of issue and I believe in and I respect people’s views but let’s discuss it because there’s passion on both sides of this issue.“His statements have come after the U.S. Supreme Court recently ruled to overturn Roe v. Wade which provided abortion at a federal level. It has since gone back to the states, giving the people the ability to vote on something like this and control their own laws. It really puts the power back in the hands of the people and was in no way a “ban” on abortion as many say.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fN5B7TL-qc
