Rebel Wilson recently came out in an announcement that showcased her with her new girlfriend. However, the news was forced to come out earlier because of a newspaper that was going to out her. The Australian actress responded to an outraged journalist who couldn’t believe what the Sydney Morning Herald is admitting, namely, that they were going to blow open her story.
Reporter Kate Doak announced on Twitter, “So apparently it wasn’t @RebelWilson‘s choice to come out… The @smh/@theage have admitted to giving her a heads up 2 days in advance that they were going to “out” her.” To make matters worse, the person who was going to do it is openly gay, and should understand that something like that should be left for the person to announce, “What’s worse, openly gay men at the Sydney Morning Herald were involved in this.”

Rebel Wilson Was Going To Be ‘OUTED’ By A Newspaper – Chose To Announce Her Coming Out To Beat Them
Wilson responded to the post saying, “Thanks for your comments, it was a very hard situation but trying to handle it with grace.”
The article details the process of what went into trying to confirm the relationship and seems to be angry about the fact that Rebel evaded questions and made the news two days before the article was to be published. This has made such news that even the editor of the paper, Bevan Shields, has released a statement, “[W]e simply asked questions and as standard practice included a deadline for a response. I had made no decision about whether or what to publish, and the Herald’s decision about what to do would have been informed by any response Wilson supplied.”
It’s a shame that Wilson was rushed with the announcement, but we hope that she is happy with her new relationship and we wish them the best.
