Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul, could face jail time for his recent DUI arrest. Paul Pelosi has been charged with 2 misdemeanors: Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol Causing Injury and Driving with .08% Blood Alcohol Level or Higher Causing Injury.
TMZ first broke the story that Paul was involved in a car accident on May 28th, near Napa, California when it collided with a Jeep. The CHP officers who responded said that Pelosi showed signs of being intoxicated and showed signs of impairment after a field sobriety test.
Nancy Pelosi’s Husband Paul Charged With DUI Causing Injury – Will He Even Do Jail Time Though?
Interestingly enough, Pelosi handed the officers his “11-99 Foundation” card. The foundation provides financial assistance and scholarships to CHP officers and their families. Normally, this wouldn’t be a big deal, but with Nancy’s defund the police stances over the last few years, it’s ironic that he would carry such a card.
Paul’s actions mean that he’ll have up to 5 years of probation, a minimum of 5 days in jail, and the installation of an ignition interlock device.
Police noted that the victim reported pain in his arm, shoulder, and neck and had difficulties lifting things.
It will be interesting to see if Paul will even have to end up serving his jail time. There seems to be a lot of funny business going on concerning the incident, including the Governor of California being involved. However, a ‘spokesperson’ for Napa County told TMZ, “Governor Newsom has not contacted the D.A.’s office nor intervened to have all DUI charges against Paul Pelosi dropped.”
What do you think? Will Paul be able to get away with this or will he actually have to serve his whole 5 days like any other person would? Let us know in the comments below.
